Is lx a non VTEC

I'm reading this article and I was wondering is this a nonVTEC to VTEC swap or are they showing something you can do with a VTEC. It looks kind of fun, and yes you guys told me before it's not worth doing a VTEC swap. (assuming if that's what it is)

VTEC Swap

its very possible...with the D17 its as easy as changing the head...

but if you plan on Turbo... your better off with a NON-Vtec due to lower compression..

Yes the LX is non-VTEC... and like everyone else mentioned... it's not worth it to do the swap.

swapping to vtec won't give you more than 2 hp. The extra hp on the si comes from the exhaust. vtec is a crock on our cars. It's only good for decreasing emissions. That's why on the lx (without vtec) they had to move the cat right up next to the motor since a hotter cat works better. unfortunately this setup robs power. So for more power, you're better off swapping the exhaust as many of us have already done.
