differences in people's sf kit

i rememberthis question being asked and no one really gave a concrete answer, so i'll ask again. why is it there are so many variations of the SF kit? for instance:

-some poeple's BOVs are welded on right by the throttle body, while others are by the fuse box.

-some turbo intake pipe/filter extend higher up tothe surface of the engine compartment, while others stay tucked lower closer to the block.

in both instances, why are they different, what makes them different.

It's all your preference. Some guys send SF their own BOV and have a flange welded on to their pipe. Some guys don't want to have the BOV that SF ships out with their kit and they like a particular brand. As for the turbo intake...you can run it a couple of different ways. It doesn't all have to set up the exact same way for it to work.

as far as the turbo intake goes, when you order, you need to specify how you want the piping to go? i understand it all works, just a matter of preference. i didn't think it would be possible for them to take requests for that sort of thing. i guess i just imagined that there would be some sort of standard or set protocol, since this is a kit. don't get me wrong, i'm not questioning the work or sf or anything, i'm just a curious possible buyer.

Don't forget that SF designed this kit and released it very soon after. The design has evolved over time.

You can. SF welds universal flanges onto the charge pipe. People with the HKS BOV upgrade on the kit have the BOV near the fuse box where the XS BOV sits right near the TB. This is DIRECTLY related to the inake pipe. HKS BOV people have the filter sit towards the back left of the engine bay, where the stanard BOV people have the filter near the upper radiator hose. Your BOV choice usually determines where everthing else falls into place. Although as time progresses I'm sure they will make certain designes standard, such as the bonnet being replace by the smooth pipe.

Yeah the bonnet blew off the car b/c it wasn't tightened all the way and made a dent in my hood too- good thing that I am not a "show car" kind of gal
I agree on the bonnet but only other prob is the paint coming off the mani- not too much that I can do about that though right?
