Question 17" rims

Hi,

I am looking into throwing some 17's on my car and maybe dropping it 2 inches. Has anyone done this. If so what shocks do you recomend and also would a camber kit be required. Any info would be great. Thanks

Kloverz has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Of course someone did this before, you will need new shocks because it will go out eventually, and spc camber will do. try searching next time.

I have that setup on my car...you don't need shocks, I still have my stock ones, but if you want them get Koni yellows. You'll be ok w/ no camber kit, but I recomend at least a rear camber kit and I like and have SPC.I've had this setup now for 2 years and it's worked for me.

For shocks... the best would be Koni's.
If you want, u can also go with FULL Coilovers... something like Tein SS or KW or JIC... but that's gonna cost a lot more. That way, u can adjust ur height as much as you want.

As for camber kit... yes, if u go that low, it would be best to get a camber kit, assuming u're gonna be riding on 17's... just so u can save the wear on ur tires... especially the rears! the fronts might be okay! just make sure u get an alignment done, so u know for sure!

hope that helps a little.

get hayame coilovers if youre on a budget, or tien or jic if you can afford them. Tanabe makes nice ones too i heard...also pricy tho. unless you just want for show, dont waste your money on springs/shocks. its a pain in the a$$ and the combo will cost you as much as hayame coilovers anyway.

17" is ok, it looks good, but the ride is a bit rough. depends on the roads you have there. i doubt ill buy 17s again with this size car. id go +1 from the largest size that comes off the factory.

you should get a camber if youre doing a 2" drop. ingalls or spc will work fine.

next time search....or at least browse the forums a bit.
