Hey everyone,
Today someone messed up my right rear door panel (sedan). There are three dings and a scratch about an inch long with the paint taken off.
Now I need to know what a body shop will be able to do with this. Obviously I'm paying because my deductible is too high and rates will go up. So will they have to replace the entire door, or just fix the dents and repaint? I'm really worried that the paint will then not match the rest of the car (it's satin silver). And I don't have alot of money to fix this.
My other option is to get some body graphics. My car is really clean, so it would have to be low profile, like maybe some stripes or something. The damage is above the door lines, close to the window. I may have to do this, since the damage is really bad and I can't live with it like that.
Any suggestions and ideas are greatly appreciated!

Hey. I got you.
To answer some of your confusion... If they buy the Honda Paint or if you supply them with it, it should match 99.9%.
Take it to a quality place and you should be happy with the results. Although Honda doesnt do their body work at their dealers (at least not in IL), they work with shops who specialize in their cars. The shop I am thinking about getting some work done, works on Hondas, Mercedes, and VWs all in one dealer downtown. So yeah. When I get my bumper painted, she'll be treated like the S500 next to her. I looked around in my area though before I narrowed it down to this shop. So with that said, go to a Honda certified shop if you want satisfaction.
No, they probably wont replace the door. What they do will probably be a little labor intensive. They'll pop the dent out, smooth everything, then paint it. How the process goes, I am not sure. You'll end paying more for labor than for parts, honestly.
If you're that worried about paint match and want a whole nother door panel, do it on your own. Find the part number and ask greg is he can order one and if it come painted from the shop. Sometimes big parts like that don't come painted.
Hope this helps my fellow EXILE bro

^^good advice
They might need to paint more than just the door to get it right. To blend it in the will probably do the side of the car. Someone hit the side of my car and I needed to have the whole side repainted in order too have it blend properly, but just make sure its honda paint they use. You might also be able to search a junkyard for a wrecked civ and take the door off that one, and it will be painted already!
hope i helped and good luck.

Thanks guys. I wonder how much a new door would cost? Cause mine is pretty bad and I don't know if they can pop all the dents out.

Man it's expensive, like $500 and that might not be painted even. This sucks so much! Everything except that door is perfect. Well, thanks anyway. Maybe I'll look for a decal somewhere, even though it's gonna look bad.
