hmmm, are you sure they do? i'm pretty sure the base model is a v6.
just looked it up, and the base is a 3.8 v6, with 190 hp and 220 ft-lbs...any model above that is a v8.
you probably won because the mustang weighs at least 500 pounds more than your civic

he probably won cuz the guy in the mustang cant drive. Even at 500 more pounds the extra 63hp should allow him to win in a straight line. Unless they were racing on a road with deep turns then the civic would have the advantage cuz of less steer.

Rep Power: 0 ford put a 4 banger in the earlier years, i believe up until the late 1980's. but as for now, hell no they dont make no 4 banger, that got that 3.6 liter v6, which puts out minimal power. so either the guy wasnt trying, he really sucks at driving, or he sucks at driving, and it was automatic.

Rep Power: 0 Had a Mustang V6 automatic rental a few months back while in Phoenix...must say my Civic wouldn't hang with that...maybe close in an 1/8th mile but the ole V6 had some good midrange and would be saying Bye Bye!

Rep Power: 0 ya i had him all the way through 3rd so i no he was trying, maybe he just didnt know how to drive, i dont know, and yes the road was straight

Cobra Mustang
and a new stock Cobra would not dyno at 455, those are numbers for a intake, exhaust, chip, and pulley Cobra. Most stock ones range high 360-380 stock
