I got a ticket today actually, around a blind corner, no radar detector in the world would've helped me...
101 dollars + increased insurance rates for the next 5 years > 400 bucks

Rep Power: 332 The Valentine 1 is by far the best detector on the planet (avaliable to us) so it's your best bet. However, if you are just in need of a detector that will satisfy the open place on your windshield for now go to Radio Shack. They have a detector for $50 and it's what I have. It's only a temporary one until i get the $ for the V1 but it's already paid for itself many times over.

Rep Power: 0 anyone heard of the K40 system??? I think it is a radar jammer. They put it in the front back and sides of your car and it scrambles the po po's radar, my buddy that works at best buy was telling me about them. anyone know if they work?
They are'nt very reliable, and don't always do what they say that they will do, I would just spend the money on a really nice radar detector and VG-2 capable one at that...Go to www.eopinions.com and search for it, I believe that they have some reviews on there...

However, Radar Detectors as far as I'm concerned are legal everywhere or at least they should be. All they do is Detect a signal, they don't send anything out, and it's your consititutional right to be albe to detect a broadcasted signal, which radar is.

Watever it is dont get the valentine. Go to www.radartest.com, and they tell u that valentine is the radar that everyone expects to work and pay 400 dollars and still get tickets. its the one radar thats got a lot of angry mails back because that **** doesnt work. plus if u do get a ticket with valentine, they will only pay for the ticket, if its at a certain speed range. Meaning if u went 30 over it wont give u, ur money back. the best radar is ESCORT PASSPORT 9500, it $299.00, but its worth every penny. And trust me this works real well, it picked up a cop holding a laser gun on the other side of a hill, and by the time i got there my friend with the valentine got pulled over and was getting a ticket. dont get the valentine, i promise u will regret it. THey talk a lot but in the end they arent that reliable. They were the worlds top radar until they had a one on one test with the ESCORT 9500. like the car stores i go to, even tell me to get the escort and not the valentine.
