Just received some of my parts from SFPower - disappointed at the quality! *56K no*

Ok guys - here is my review of SFPowers manifolds - Poor!
I don't know who actually fabricated mine, but its definitely not worth $700......The pictures speak for themselves:
Can you say reduced flow due to huge weld beads? All 4 are this way....

I just have no comment on this....Just look for yourselves....

This just pissed me off the most - this image is full size, so its large. You can clearly see the pin hole in the weld bead - what a sloppy job.....

Isn't this supposed to be a MACHINED SURFACE?!?! Looks freakin' warped to me! For those who can't tell - its the flange where the T-3 turbo mounts to.....

Last one, this again just speaks for itself.....shotty....

As you can see, these welds are horrible! They look MIG welded, and this is supposed to be a stainless steel header, which should have been TIG welded. The ceramic coating which I "bought" extra for $200 is a joke - it almost looks as if it was just spray painted on, there is not much thickness to it. The photos don't show it, but one of the welds on my downpipe has a pin-hole in it......
I'm sorry Stafford, but for $700 you should have tried harder.....not worth the price for that much.
ALSO - I never got my oil lines, and turbo housing clip either Mike, so I'm short pieces. This is just a warning for those of you who are always saying that Stafford is the best......I personally want my money back - this doesn't look (or feel) like a good manifold. Considering I waited 2+ months for this, I am pissed. At this point I wouldn't mind just sending this back Mike and requesting a refund.....This is not how a $700 manifold is supposed to look....I have called you and left a message, you know where you can reach me.

Yeah I agree, those welds arnt that great,.. or even good for that matter. Hopefully they will take care of you and fix the problems. Sorry about the time and money waisted. Best of luck

wow, that sux dude.....mine is pretty good except i have huge welds on the inside of the pipes too. I was gonna grind them down, but then that would take away from the strength of the welds.

Funny thing is, when revhard (or pruven performance) came out with a manifold, it looked a LITTLE better than this - and people wouldn't touch it with a 10 ft pole....This is just unacceptable.....

Absolutely horrible job.... Looks like a beginner at welding could do a better job, or a local shop.... Quite pathetic for $700....
As far as fabrication work on SF kits, I know that Madwheel had some fitment (sp?) issues on his intercooler piping....
Is there any sort of quality control on the SF end before it is sent to the client? Why didn't they catch this?
EDIT: That flange is horrible as well.... pitiful

My maxrev manifold wasnt polished but the welds were great on it. Also that has no collector whatsoever on it, i mean come on theres just a pipe dumping into another pipes path. Maybe do some research on thermal dynamics...

The T-3 flange doesn't even appear to be a real T-3 flange, more just something they whipped up in shop. As far as why they just sent it out like that, why don't we ask Catalyst? Oh that's right! His PM box is full, and SF doesn't answer his phone! Voicemail left, let's see if he returns it.....

More photos:
The actual collector, not too bad, but not that great

More quality craftsmanship....check out that pipe second from the end, just sort of hanging there......

The pipe doesn't even touch the exhaust flange......

hah ask for your money back ... my header is a piece of **** too, but I didn't mention anything because sf obviously doesn't take good care of their customers ... I've had countless problems, even right after the installation ... which they never bothered to fix

well as far as looks go, the DH Pulley I got seems to be flawless. There aren any noticible irregularities in the pulley and visually it looks incredible, but of course this is CNC'd, not hand machined like these turbo parts.

Just because you got a bad part from one company doesn't mean that you should go around accusing other companies of the same problem.

Was someone learning to weld? or did they use JB Weld from a caulink gun.
SF definately does not have a quality assurance department.
You should return that crap, or take it to a machine shop to fix and
have SF foot the bill!

dont waste time trying to fix, it will cost more, plus u basically need to bust all the welds and start all over, plus its warped, pipes look tack welded and not finished

I believe DH's 9 second drag civics speak for themselves

Then don't bring Dh racing into this thread. Keep your bitching to the one company that screwed you over, not the company that you want to hate because they don't have dyno's
