Ppl With Short Shifters... Pls Read
i have the revo short shifter.... it was a complete swap with the stock shifter.
if you have the revo short shifter, i was wondering if the shifts felt tighter....?
the shifts are shorter though....
im just curious if the shifts are suppose to feel tighter/stiff. maybe i installed it wrong... o_O
or anybody with different short shifters... are the shifts tighter/stiffer?

I have the Revo - it was really tight for the first week, even after I have GENEROUSLY lubricated it before install. After a week though it loosened up and now feels perfect. Every time I have the shifter console open I take a few seconds and grease up the moving parts too.

it's been about the week not... im prolly just getting used to it.
when you say you put some grease on it everytime to have the console open.... i guess you dont put grease underneath it then... right?
and do you use just the automotive multi purpose grease?
'cause it was a bitch taking the thing off. well, only that one piece... the wire that's part of the shifter... the one on the left side
where you have to turn it to the left to get it out... it took me a damn long time to turn that damn plastic piece for some reason.. i have to jiggle it a hundred times or so....

this is what i had trouble removing...
i wasnt sure if i was suppose to stick a flat head screw driver in there... 'cause since it was plastic, i was afraid of chipping pieces off.

i dont want to go through all the trouble no more.. the next time i do it.
whta did you do Telly?
thanks
i thought you're suppose to turn it to the left.. because of the hole it has on the left side for it to pull out.

Capyoda's bushings are the little metal dealies between the assembly and the chassis (where the 4 big bolts go). Grey's upgrade kit is cotter pins and the little washers that connect cable to shaft, like in the pic I stole from higher in this thread:

I have a Solo short shift adapter and it felt light from day one. I can easily glide into each gear. Except for going into first gear sometimes when I'm rolling close to zero.

What about those Kuhmo bushings I've heard about? Hmmm... I was planning on installing a Revo Short Shifter this spring in my car - I want to get the gearbox tight and short as possible.
I don't know if you've ever felt the Mazda Miata shifter - sweet...

capyoda bushings are not available at the moment i think. where can i get kumhosports in the gta area? and how much does the kumhosport bushings go for? i want to get both grey's bushings and capyoda's or kumho's before installing mine.

The kumo/CapYoda bushings install at the base of the shifter (where it bolts to the chassis). Since they're all aluminum and not a metal sleeve with rubber surround like the stock ones are, they eliminate a lot of play and your shifting feels more solid. In fact, I installed CapYoda's bushings before I installed my Revo, and my shift feel was vastly improved right away.
