Trace of gasoline smell from the oil...
Hey guys..i've got a problem..everytime I check the oil...I smell gasoline from the oil..do you guys know what is contributing to this.and..would this type of problem be covered under warranty..? I usually check the dipstick..wipe the oil on a napkin..and sniff..and it always smells like fuel..even tho I jus recently changed the oil..the smell still remains....anyone know what this could be from...? and what should I tell Honda in the best way..

Is the car running fine? Is it hard to start?Typically your describing a over rich condition and can be harmful to the engine over time. If there isnt a over rich condition then it may be fine. It is possible to have a small amout of fuel odor coming from the oil.

what do you mean by "hard start".... by the way...the oil level seems higher too...and it got darker quicker even tho i jus recently changed my oil.....I think I need to take it to Honda...if they do a diagnosis it tells them everything..rite? this is becoming a greater problem...

It's possible from what your desrcibbing is that maybe an injector is leaking and when you shut off your car it basically bleeds off all the fuel pressure in to the cylinder causing it to be hard to start, and also the fule could be washing down the cylinder walls intot eh crank case. This is all guessing but a possibility i think.
