Question RSX Type S rear sway bar question...

A friend of mine told me, that if I was to install an RSX Type S rear sway bar (19.0 mm) or a DC5 Integra Type R rear sway bar (22.0 mm) that it will bend/warp the surrounding frame because it was bigger than the stock bar, and he advised me not to do it.
Now, I don't know much about this stuff, so this is why I'm asking you guys. I want to get either the Type S bar or the Type R bar, but if it's going to warp/bend the frame, I'm not going to bother. I won't be installing anything else in the rear, just the bar, so there will be nothing else to reinforce it, etc...

So what I need to know is, will I run into problems if I have the RSX Type S rear sway bar installed, or even the Integra Type R one...

(I have a 2004 Acura EL *think 2004 Civic EX Sedan*)

Thanks

Simply put.
You won't. If you are really worried.
Upgrade endlinks along with bigger sway bar.

You should be fine with the 19mm, I love mine. With the 22mm you might break your endlinks but the frame tearing I've only heard of happening to a guy autocrossing.

depending what year you hvae. if you have 2001, there is no stock rear sway bar.. you will have to custom install it if you really want one

as to the original question.. there will not be a problem, 'nor will it bend the surrounding frame...

i have a rsx rear sway bar..19mm, with stock endlinks. just make sure you use the rsx bushings and brackets b/c the honda ones are too small... as they're meant for 17mm.

of course.. it will be safer to upgrade the endlinks as well... but as off now, there should be no problem with the honda stock endlinks

i will be upgrading in the future... the endlinks.. if i have any extra funds.
but then again.. i may upgrade to 22mm.

and that wont damage anything either...as long as you upgrade all the things necessary to go with the 22mm.

the worst thing that can happen is that it will improve the handling

.... and of course, if you install it incorrectly.. then you will have a big problem.

that's odd.. i guess they manufacture the damn car differently overseas...
are you sure those holes are meant for the endlinks though? where your tires/rims are....

or are you referring to the holes meant for the bushings/brackets???

the rsx type S rear sway bar should fit... i know somewho custom installed it onto a 2001 civic coupe. which had no stock rear sway bar.

yup its true they manufacture it different but i think the engine only body is the same except for interior and exterior stuff (link>>> http://hondakal.com/civic_design.htm), i got a 1.6 engine with a 3stage vtec

yup i meant the holes bushing and brackets for the rear sway bar, one more question would the US sidemirrors fit mine? i'm here at US right now to shop for car parts! thnx!

yes, the us mirrors should bolt directly to your car.

And I'd be more than happy to trade mirrors and taillights with you any time you wanted to.

like you just said... holes for the bushings/brackets
but im not sure if you would have to custom install the endlinks.... i never thought of checking to see if it just comes right off.
but bottom line, the rsx rear sway bar will fit - 19mm

know your facts. 2001s did come with rear bars, not all, but they did, i know for a fact that the EXs came with a rear bar, lower models, maybe not, but EXs yes im sure the sedans were the same.

dont be a smart a s s, you a s s.
i do know my facts.
i know that 2001 came with rear sway bars. 2001 civic coupe Si (ex US model) to be exact. all the other models... lx, dx, coupe and sedans didnt come with rear sway bars in 2001. like in CANADA. 'cause they're prolly too damn cheap to provide it with one.

the ppl that asked about the rear sway bar mentioned they had 2001 sedans.... i felt that i had no need to explain it word for word for which models came and didnt come with the rear sway bar.
