Want to get high?
Want to get high?
To me my car has too much bass coming from the front speakers and not enough highs, plus they don’t sound clear. Right now I have Polk db 650 up front, and the stock tweeters. In the back I have Polk db 690's and a 12" sub.
Should I just get new tweeters to replace the stock ones? (Will that give me better, clearer highs)
Or should I get components and are there any you would recommend?

if you really want to save money, install a crossover, if you don't already have one. you can find them many places.

that'd be a good start. if you wanted to spend a little more, then a component set would be a good idea. but if you want to spend as little as possible, get a crossover, that will filter out the low end frequencies for the least amount of money. i'd say that a comp set is a good idea, especially if you are planning on upgrading your car audio more, and are into modifying your system. they are a good way to get the full spectrum out of your audio system, but if you are just looking to filter out bass for as cheap as possible, then yes, a crossover will fit your needs, if you don't already have one.

Put 2 and 2 together.
As far as the topic at hand, get components. Go to stores and listen till you find a pair you like. Some sets with loud highs are Focal, MB Quart and Boston Acoustics. Of those three I think MB Quart has the smoothest tweeters, but go listen and see what you like.
