Civic si seat swap

Just curious about what is needed to swap the front seats from a 04 civic si in to a 2001 4 door civic dx. Will I need to swap the rails or should it bolt right in. Sorry if this has been covered I was unable to find anything about this subject.
Let me know please
Jeff

hmm... I think I've heard that most things in the Si fits our civics. But that could only be engine compartments. I know Civic_Racer9 has Si seats. You can PM him. Hope I helped a bit.

I measured my friends brackets and they are the same as ours. Just unbolt the old and bolt the SI seats in.

I have ep3 seats in my em2. there are 3 out of 4 bolts that bolt right in. one in the back is off by like .5 inches. you could fab something for it, but i just left it out.

is it true that the si seats fit the rear for sedans, but the rear seats wont be able to fold down if you need more trunk space?

if they're 50/50 split they won't fit right, but hondawerx got some rsx seats to fit so check them out. IMO, more work than it's worth though.
coupe and sedan rears are the same. fronts are same bolt pattern.

Are the electrical connectors the same under the seat between the si and 01 civic?

no, they are not (electrical parts, but is an easy remedy) and the seats will sit about 1" higher than the OEM's on the coupe and a bit more on the sedan. As far as the backs, they should be able to fit, but some customizing will be needed for them to fit.

Ok I finally installed my new si seats, no problems at all. They bolt right in and the srs light didnt even come on. =) And I installed these into my 4 door civic sedan.

Why would you want a seat that sits higher than OEM? Isn't that defeating the purpose of getting new seats?

Do what I did, start looking on ebay. I bought a pair of 04 civic si seats and the seller didnt send them, so then I bought a pair of 03 civic si seats. They can in perfect condition and well packed.

I will try to take pictures for you guys later tonight.

Yeah, I looked on ebay, and some guy was selling them, but I'd be skeptical of buying seets you spells civic "civc" and has about 400 mistakes... lol. How much did you pay, and did you have problems installing? I want the pics =)

As far as the side air bag sensors, my car since its a dx has no side srs air bags, so i bought the 03 civic si seats with no side srs. The connections under the seat were identical between the civic dx and the the new civic si seats.
Ill try to get pics up as soon as I can

umm, if i were to buy aftermarket seats, it would be for better latteral support. i could give a S**t if it sat an inch higher, just so my head wasnt hittin the roof, but after seeing the pic in the one guys sig that replied to this thread, they dont seem to sit that high

id imagne though, that youre one of those people that drives in the back seat with the ghetto lean, arent you?

nope...too short for that. lol. I was just saying that if I were to get new seats, then they would sit a smidgen lower and have more support on the sides (you say lateral support, i say side to side.), not one that sits higher and has a little bit more support on the sides. but that's just me.
