An airbag needs to see 12v to go off. It can't go off from excessive bass. Sounds like something is wired into the airbag circuits that shouldn't be.

well.... he's a dj, had turntabels built into his van too, so sometimes used his van as the "stage" at some of our parties...... he had it installed the right way....... just maybe with enough bump, it stimulated teh airbag sensors in his bumpers..... like if he were hit by anouther car...... iuno.... its just funny...... and dont want it to happne to me....

Sounds bogus to me, or something is wired wrong. I had 4 15's in my 99 F250 pushing 152 plus DB EVERY day and never had a problem other then the rear view mirror falling off the glass

I don't see how that could happen. I got hit by a girl going at least 35 MPH in the back and my airbags didn't go off. Unless my car is defective?

air bags only go off if the front is hit, if the rear is hit, nothing happens, if u have side air bags those would go off if hit on the side

Oh well. It's good that it didn't otherwise it would add another 2,000 to the 10,000 worth of damage, that the girl has to pay for my car. Her car with front end damage is only 5,000 worth, go figure. Her radiator and other things blew too. Oh well.

If a girl hit the back of your car I wouldn't imagine the airbags would go off as when you're hit from behind you're pushed back into the seat, not forward into the wheel. I imagine it makes sense for the airbags not to go off every time a car is hit because they tend towards destorying the dash and costing a lot of money to replace.

someone pulled out in front of me caused 4000 dollars in damages to the front end and the airbags didnt go off but now the car is fixed but still in the shop cause the airbag light stays on(tried to reset it).

I think they were supposed to go off and they didnt and thats why the light is on
