Picking a CD player. Advice?
Well my old JVC CD player is dead and I need to get a new one. Going back to the Stock CD Player sucks ***. I want something good, but dont' need alot of things. Any Ideas of what to get? I do not need MP3. I want at least 40X4 watts. Perfer more. Detachable face. And I perfer it to have multiple RC hook ups in the back. I might down the road replace the stock speakers and add a 4 channel amp. I'm going to be adding a 2 channel amp and a sub soon. And recommendations?
I wouldn't worry about a HU with a lot of power, those 40x4 measurements don't really mean much. Possibly, get yourself a 4 channel, use two for the sub, and amp the front.
What's your Budget?

Well no more than $1000. I really don't care much for tons of ICE. I just plan on running one 12. for some bump. I just want a good HU, but don't want to pay an arm and a leg.

I think you would like eclipse. Their low end decks are very good and cheap as well. Alpine, eclipse, and pioneer are among the top brands. Sony is garbage, and newer kenwood decks aren't good either. Also consider the display colors at night.

if you plan on getting an amp in the future anyways, then why bother with HU wattage.
by the way, read teh fine print on the deck... theyre all really low wattage, and thats driver to max. ill give you money if you can show me a headunit that can produce more than 15-17 watts undistorted

^^^^^^^^That doesn't make sense to me. When I installed the JVC the speakers sounded so much better. Then going back to stock it dosn't sound as good.
I've already for a set of 6.5 pioneer speakers for the front. I'm just not too sure if I'm going to install them and mess with upgrading everything. But lets say I do. What tweeters and back speakers do you recommend. I was looking at getting a JL 12 inch sub and a Kicker 300.2 amp for it. Then I thoguht about getting a Kicker 300.4 for the speakers. Does it matter if I upgrade my HU then? If I dont' then how would I wire up amps without RC outputs? Any thoughts about the parts I talked about? I know some about audio. Not a whole lot. I can wire everything up though. I would love to redo everything, but I don't really want to spend a lot of money on it.

Well, your sound won't be any better with an amp on your stock HU, especially if you tap into the high level outputs. Ideally, for a base setup, I think that You should get a halfway decent HU, about 200 should be fine, then spend about 150 on a 4 channel amp, maybe somewhere around 50-100 watts per channel. Then, amp the pioneer speakers you already have up front, leave the rear stocks off the HU's own power. Then, bridge the remaining two channels on the amp for the subwoofer. It hsould be good for about 100-200 watts to the sub, and depending on the sub, should be alright.
I personally wouldn't mess with getting new rear speakers.
Are the Pioneer 6.5" speakers you have now coaxial or components? If you don't mind, you could just stick to the coaxial 6.5 you have now, if they are.
Also, btw, the stock HU puts out a lot less power than the JVC, but even then, the JVC doesn't put out that much power, probably around 20ish watts at most.

Well everythnig is stock right now. The poineer speakers I hav a still new in the box. They are 220 watts I believe. If I install the speakers, what about the stock tweeters? Should I upgraded them too?
Well, your Pioneers are probably coaxial.. meaning they have a tweeter built in. adding another might make it too harsh in the upper ranges? I don't know.. That' sup to you. what speakers are they?
if you have a grand to spend, go with Alpine. they have the best stuff these days and it looks really nice. also, dont just run one sub get 2. your amp will have an easy time running 2 subs because the impedence(sp?) is cut in half so you system will sound much better. if you worried about room in you trunk, just build a small box, like only 10" deep. my friend has one that is like that and his system sound amazing. i have 2 Polk DX 12" sub and a 250D Memphis Audio amp. its not too loud but you can feel it in your seat when you crank it up.
another thing i would look into is mp3 capablility....i can put up 250-300 songs on a cdr compared to the regular 1-20 regular tracks on a normal burnt cd....i have an alpine....and the tuning and adjustbility are awesome...i paid 370$ with shipping for the alpine 9815....

^^^^^I really don't care for a MP3 player. I'm just looking at getting a new HU right now and adding a sub and amp. But i want a HU that has dual RCA outputs besides the sub outputs so if I decide to add a 4 channel amp and new speakers down the road I don't have to get another HU.
Right now I'm looking at just getting a Kicker 300.2 amp and a 12W7 JL sub. Any likes or dislikes on that?
