Im going to make a sealed enclosure for my sub so tell me if this makes sense

im going to make the box 14"w X 14"h X 12"d (inside size) which should give me a volume of 1.36 cu.ft.

The speaker displacement is .066 cu.ft, and the braces i use will take up .060 cu.ft which will leave me with a volume about 1.228 cu.ft

The recommended sealed box vol is 1.25 cu.ft.

Will this be ok, and does this size sound right?

The reason why im confused is in the instruction book for the sub it shows a box 14x19.75x12
that gives a volume of 1.92 cu.ft. (1.85 cu.ft if you take into consideration the sub displacement.) So that leaves .6 cu.ft. Why would it show a box with that volume when they recommend 1.25, or am i missing something.

Should be plenty close enough for a sealed enclosure. Sealed enclosures have alot more give and take for size

if you look at that grey bar....it gives the range of volume that will work with those woofers. go with what you have.

I finished the box, it came out pretty good, and it sounds good. I just have to carpet it and get a grill. I will post pics later
