custom ground wire kit ?'s

hey guys im gonna make my own ground wire kit (not audio system wire kit) cuz everywhere they sell it for 100$+....not about to pay that much.

so i have some questions.

-what size gauge?
- how many strand? how long each?
- does gold terminal matter or just any ends

1. 4 gauge
2. strand count won't affect performance. but it does affect pliability. so a medium to high count will allow you to shape it best.
3. gold is about the best conductive metal. you want the best possible connection because that is where the most power is lost is at connections, not in the wire itself. so anywhere the wire stops and connects to something is important. does it make a huge difference? no. but the sum of all the power drops may become significant.

i bought a ground kit for like $30 off ebay though. and as you observed, its all the same crap. IMO wasn't worth doing it custom.

actually sir, copper and silver are better conductors than gold, but they oxidize like a mother****er...

also, you can get 4 gauge for dirt at www.weldingsupply.com
