Need instructions (help) on installation of lower tie bar?
I have looked at DIY and the suspension FYI posts in this forum but can not find anything that shows how I install this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33591
Can anyone help me with this?
Also I just installed my front STB and would like to know if the STB that is used in the front is the same brace used in the rear? I can not find any rear STB on ebay anymore? Also I have heard that the rear tie bar will be of no use unless I put a rear STB on? If you have any expertise in these areas please help me out? Thanks

brace control arms with wooden planks, pull control arm bolts out, attach tie bar, put control arm bolts back in and torque to spec.
No the rear strut bar is different. Right now you have a generic option you can get from tornactive, OBX if you can find it, and cusco which is the best bar out now.
The rear tie bar will be of no use unless you change to a bigger Anti sway bar. You could probably get away with a 20mm RASB without needing a tie bar. A tie bar is just to brace the chassis under stress so it does not crack.

yeah well, If you are gonna get a rear sway bar, the Progress and Neuspeed bars both have integrated tie bars so it isn't worth getting those. i would upgrade to the 22m CTR bar which i think you can get for around $150 with brackets and bushings.

Rob, what about the poly bushings? Do these really make a difference? I am thinking of using them on my vette too if they are worth it? I have the upgraded suspension with the metal endlinks already. I think what you are telling me is that the tie bar is useless unless I am willing to spend at least $150 on a new rear sway.......right?

I recently changed out my Front control arm bushings....... absolutly worth it. especially if you've lowered the car for any length of time. the stock ones were Pretty tore up....... i didn't do the rears, they didn't look beat up enough yet.
As far as the rear tie bar.... well its more of a precautionary part. older gen civcs/Integras specifically ones with heavily modified suspensions for track use had a tendency to rip the lower control ams out of their mounts. so the Lower tie bar was created to reinforce that weak part in the chassis. As far as if we need one.... well I dont know. Ther arnt a lot of 7th gens out there with really heavily modified suspensions running on the track, so we dont konw if our lower mounts are weak. But why take the chance.....
