My Intended Setup (Help)

Well, Christmas money should be here soon and I'm looking into a nice ICE setup so here's some ideas...

Pioneer 7500 7in Motorized/TouchScreen DVD/CD
(Does it have a TV tuner?)
or
Pioneer HeadUnit with DVD/CD
Inputs:
iPod & PS2
Some sort of Pioneer interior speakers
(Undecided) Suggestions appreciated
2 Kicker SoloBarics L7 12in Subs
(Price?)
Suggestions on amps please
Generic 7in headrest LCD
Suggestions here also
Capacitor (hate to see the lights dimming when I turn the bass up)
Wiring (suggestions)
Optima yellow top battery (just in case)

I've been thinking about going to Canal St to get some prices too...
Could you guys help me with price range, thoughts, better ideas, good install shops, etc...

Since money is tight I'd probably get the headunit, etc. at first.. Later when money is cool, I'd get the 7500.

Thanks

JL audio makes good speaker amps for highs. As far as install, try and do it yourself. It's not too hard, just taking the car apart and hooking up power and rca cables. Sounds like a good setup. Let me know if you need wiring help.

Yup, I also been thinking about JL for my subs (I think w7), so it looks like I will use them for amps also.
Well, my dad's friend, works for Circuit City said he'll do it for a very low price, he did my dad's ICE, and I'll play second fiddle in order to learn the steps, I might DIY in my next Civic (Hatchie).
But, damn I love this forum, everyone is so helpful, I hope to become a veteral like the rest of you guys, I spend so much time reading and stuff, so maybe my knowledge will increase .

you're talking about money being tight, yet you're considering a W7 and JL amps?

since you didn't know what solobarics go for (about 350 on ebay), i'll tell you that a 12W7 is gonna run you $500 easily, and an amp for it will be about the same. whats kind of the budget you're looking at for each thing?

Ouch, since you said that, I think I'm going Kicker
On Canal St, I can get a pair for $500

I didn't really know prices of the JLs , but I've heard a set before and they r0x0rs, but they are outta my price range, I'm trying to spend around 2-2,500$

Budget Idea (subject to adjustment)

Pioneer 7500 (around $1500 on Canal St.)
or
Pioneer HeadUnit with DVD/CD (around $400 on Canal St.)
Inputs: iPod ($300) & PS2 (used one from my cousins protege5, free) (ipod might wait)
Some sort of Pioneer interior speakers (I'm guessing for all 4 around $200)
(Undecided) Suggestions appreciated
2 Kicker SoloBarics L7 12in Subs ($500 on Canal St., any better deals?)
Suggestions on amps please (have no idea)
Generic 7in headrest LCD (around $100-200)
Capacitor (hate to see the lights dimming when I turn the bass up) (have no idea)
Wiring (suggestions) (no idea)
Optima yellow top battery (just in case) ($175)

w/7500 I'm guessing 3-3,500$ (w/labor)
w/pioneer headunit I'm guessing 2-2,500$ (w/labor)

so I might leave the 7500 out of the picture now..

If I were you, don't get the monitor. It will get jacked. A regular mp3 player would be cool, but I guess it's up to you. I had my first ice stuff installed at circuit city. When I learned more, I totally redid everything and got another amp and stuff.

Comparison of 2 Pioneer Motorized Screens

Well, I'm not getting the DVD receiver, I'm not fond of that setup..
And I wouldve got the 6500 for the lower price (probably 1,000$ on Canal) but,
It doesn't support dual zone, and thats a feature I really want!

For example, you could be bumping your system, and playing a video game on the back screens.. OR Listening to a radio station, while playing a movie for the passengers... OR more like me, bumping your music, while playing some sort of videos on the screens (w/NO passengers) just to stunt

But, I know I'm going to need an alarm, even though its always parked in my fenced in backyard, but for those times when I go to the mall
Now the thought of losing my equipment is scaring me

I completely respect your opinion, now that you mention it, it would be cheaper eh?

Damn planning your ICE is hard!

you can do the DIY hiding your head unit...you use the faceplate off your stock HU to cover your aftermarket when its retracted....pretty nifty. And I'd go with the Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD. 6.5" touchscrees instead of 7, but 500 LESS! You could get the 6.5" with a navigation system for like 600. And no it doesnt have a builtin tuner; thats like another $100.

vizualogic har headrest lcd's already installed in headrests, the wires come out of the bottom of the posts that insert in the stock seat. you replace the entire headrest as opposed to hacking up your stock ones. not sure of the price on those, but they are matched to the fabric in your vehicle. there are other manufacturers that make headrests with lcd's in them, but im drawing a blank right now. they have basic headrests, in black leather/vinyl coverings that fit. and then they have the interior matched. i'm betting that they are pretty high though, at least the fabric matched ones.

Ok here's the deal, I'm getting 2 Kicker L7s in a Ported Box, for $400 or less.
The guy's trying to sell me a RF Punch amp (Supposedly Discontinued) 400x2 for $300.
But I will offer him $650 cash and see what he says...
As for interior speakers I found the Pioneer ones that I want, what amp would you suggest?
And thanks Playa, but right now, in terms of budget spending, I might not be getting headrest LCDs, or even an in-dash right now .

Try and stay away from rockford stuff. I've got a low-end alpine amp for the speakers and it sounds great. Alpine is well known for speaker amps, as is JL. You should really just go to a few audio places and test them out. It's the only way, even though everything will sound much better in the car anyway.

i'd offer him 600 cash. is he a licensed dealer? if so, make sure you get a reciept, in case somethinghappens, you can send it back to the manufacturer and get something similar in case the manufacturer discontinues something (as in the amp). if hes not a dealer, ask him for his original reciept, for the same purpose. i bought an amp off a friend when i first got into car audio, it blew, so i sent it back to rockford with his reciept, with his addy on it. i asked him to watch for a delivery to him for them amp, cause he was a friend, and i got back a brand new one, cause they discontinued the particular amp. sitll have that old *** rockford power amp too. i didnt even use it... hrm, wonder what it'd fetch on ebay now? anyway, i didnt read the part about where you said you weren't getting some of the stuff till later, but at least you have a starting place once you do decide to get those headrest lcds. matter of fact, i think its honda tuner, one of the new mags has an install using a similar headrest lcd. it was one of the generic hr's, without the matched interior, think it was like $200 per hr for them. not sure though. just saw it earlier when i was browsing the new mags at walmart.

Hmm, I'll go to a few Audio places and see whats up.. I'm just getting my ideas together, makes it easy when the time comes, ya know?

Popcorn, its a friend in this situation too, I think he brought it on Canal St., and just to make sure I'm going to check some prices ASAP.

But not tomorrow, as I'd like to fix my tint in the afternoon.

i have a precision power 5800 series amp (5 channel 800 watts) and it powers all 4 speakers and my 2 jl w3's. i bought the 12's box and amp for 400 off a friend who needed money. that amp kicks *** though. nice and clean with 1 amp. 400 watts are for the sub channel and 100 for each speaker.
