Power Wire/Alpine XM Tuner
Hey everyone, I got my Alpine XM Tuner today for my CDA-7893 unit. I didn't realize however that the unit needed its own source of power. I plan on mounting the tuner in the trunk and I don't want to run the power wire all the way through the firewall and to the battery. Is there anyway I can connect it to any source of power near the rear of my car? I have two amplifiers, a HiFonics ZX6000 (150W RMS x 2) and an Alpine M300 (300W RMS). My HiFonics amplifier has a 4G power wire and my Alpine has a 6G wire. Is there anyway that I can tap into one of these power wires; im doubtful that every bit of power coming to these amplifiers through these wires is needed. This Alpine HU has a 7.5A fuse in the unit and a 12V ground. Id appreciate the help.
I assume you have no distro block, and 2 seperate power wires coming to your trunk from the battery? If that is the case, just connect the power wire for the XM Brain to the power wire where it goes into the amp. It doesnt draw a lot of power at all.
