Struts -> KYB AGX

I emailed nopi to get their opinion on whether or not the KYB AGX's would fit on our cars since the GR-2's have the same part number for both cars. The reply I got was that it was not specified on their site so they could not say whether it would work or not but I was more than welcome to try it, and if it was not damaged, return it. Has anybody tried this yet? I don't see why they wouldn't work since the DC5 uses the same struts. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I know, the AGX's aren't out yet. I just went on Nopi's site and it didn't say anything about them being there. If you know something different then that is cool, but if they are going to put out shocks for the RSX then shocks for the Si and civic should be out too since they are practically the same. So, with that said, I would call KYB and ask them on the phone if the AGX's are out, because as far as we know, both tokico and kyb have NOT produced performance shocks yet.

Ok i checked and they have them listed for the 2002 model only. I had clicked 2003. So on 2003 they only list the konis. Again, i would still call the company, not NOPI, and ask 1) if they are released and 2) if they will fit the civic.

I tried to post this reply to another thread, but couldn't. Anyway as Jonauto said in his post, I found AGX for Civic is already out. Check this link : http://www.andysautosport.com/honda/...vicstruts.html

But look at the price, $592+shipping. Wow...

My rear shocks are blown, making stupid clunk sounds. Need to chage them soon. I don't wanna low my Vic, and so AGX seems to be the only choice....

Anyway, hopefully it's finally out.

First, the AGX aren't your only option. Koni makes shocks too and KYB has the GR-2's out. Second, for $590 they better be full replacements AND be as adjustable as koni. If they aren't as adjustable as Koni then they aren't worth it. You can get Konis shipped for around $500-550. Third, and most improtantly, NO ONE HAS CALLED KYB! Sure they are on the internet but is anyone definitely sure they are out? NO!! Call them and find out if you really want to know.

I don't see why they wouldn't work since the DC5 uses the same struts.
The DC5 DOES NOT use the same struts. The geometry is all the same, but the RSX shocks are larger. They're 55mm diameter opposed to 51mm for the EP3/EM2/ES1.

i have called KYB they told me that the agx will be out by srping for sure!! i already called summit racing, they gave me part numbers and i prepaid for my struts, summit said i will recieve them within 2-3 days from when they get them, since i pre purchase them shipping was free for me, cool huh, i am still waiting for my struts though, but i know that they will be here

KONI are too expensive, the KYB AGX are 129 each for front-different part #'s for R -n-L

the rear KYB AGX are 99 each and are interchangebale.

I said "BEATING a Dead Horse", not "EATING a Dead Horse"!!!! ROFL, that's hilarious! Good job on those guys! BTW: Calling the companies really doesn't help much either, I'm afraid. I called Tokico back in June to ask them when their shocks were gonna be out and the rep. said definitely by Christmas. So unless, Tokico makes like Santa Claus and delivers aftermarket shocks to all the retailers across the country on Christmas Eve, I'm gonna call their bluff. I would assume the same for KYB. They've been saying that crap for a long time and still....no shocks!!! I wouldn't hold my breath for Spring and just because you're on a pre-order list, doesn't mean a thing. I know peeps who have been on pre-order lists for Tokicos since August. And guess what....
