Ok so I've ordered the Infinity Reference 6000 cs and the JBL P180.2.

I will be getting subs in a few months. I'll probably get the JBL BP600.1 amp.

Here's how I'm going to wire it:

4awg with a fuse(100A) to Distribution Block then to my amp. As far as length goes, is 17ft long enough? I decided to use a fuse instead of a circuit breaker.

Should I just buy the Distribution block when I get the other amp?

anyways, 12awg wires for the speakers sound okay?

Am I missing anything? What gauge wire should I use for ground? the same 4 gauge?

Thanks for the help again

12 gauge is overkill for speakers, but wouldn't hurt. As a rule of thumb for ground is to have at least the same size as the power wire, but bigger is better. There is no such thing as too big of a ground.

and short as possible

Most systems can get by with 4 ga wire from the battery back. But not knowing what subs and amp that you will get could make you want larger then 4 ga. Its all determined by how much current your system CAN draw and the distance it draws it from the battery.

i got almost the same setup as you and i went with 16 guage speaker wire (but it had a think plastic covering over it, i think it was meant to use behind walls in a house, which worked awesome)

i got it at home depot in canada, and its green if that helps at all

and was actually cheaper than speaker wire, 90cents/mitre

4 gauge is fine for the front and potential sub amp you have chosen.

however your fuse size choice is horrible. put a 40A fuse in there for now. that amp might draw 30A with a test tone at full gain, 100 is waaay too high. i would say probably an 80A fuse then if you had the sub and the front speaker amps.

the fuse holder should take different sized fuses easily though.

ya i was thinking of those distribution blocks where you can put fuses in them.
That way I'll keep my 100A fuse at the battery then have the 40A for the components amp and then when I get my BP600.1, stick a 60A fuse for that.

From what i read about those amps real fast was that they both have external fuse. This being the case you should only need the one fuse at the battery. Then the dist block to split power to the seperate amps. Adding additional fuses again isnt needed. Unless like substancex said that you have the type of dist block that has the fuses in it. But if thats the case i would concur with substancex on the fuse ratings

those fuse ratings are looking high
for the JBL 180.2 u should only need like 30amp max
and with the 600.1 i think its 40 or 50

your better off having a fuse that blows at full volume, the a fuse thats rated too high that doesnt blow at all.
