heyyy someone help me! lowering

hey okay, i installed neuspeed race springs and ingalls camber kit. that was on sunday, and my fender gaps are different, on all sides. like my front right is lower then my front left, and my rear left is lower then my rear right.. the people who installed it said it was cuz i need alignment, he said he hadnt installed a camber kit on our civics so he adjusted it all the way or something and the tires are really croooked, so is all i need to get is alignment, i doubt that they installed it wrong because they do realy really good work, so do i have a problem or do i just need alignment? i went to get alignment today and they said my car was too low to get on the ramp!

Recorrect camber kit again. Let spring settled. Just drive around for while. And have fun finding shops that will do alignment for lowered cars.

just wait for it to settle. give it like a week. as for alignment, you shouldnt even get it now anyways. but ya not too many places do alignments on lowered cars so good luck finding a place...

One issue alot of alighment shops have with lowered cars is the alignment machine usually needs to see across the front of the car. With a lowered civic, it mostlikely wont unless you remove the front bumper specially if it has a body kit on it. Offer to the alignment shops to pull the front bumper its only like 2 mins or so to pop it off. This may help on getting a shop to align it. Some shops that have the newer alignment machines that use cameras to align the car dont require to see from one front tire to the other. So the bumper wont be an issue on those

As far as NOT aligning it till it settles???????????? Procedure for installing lowering kit after you get the tires back on go directly to an alignment machine do not pass go, do not collect $200 If you can SEE the camber in the tire ( slanted ) then it MUST be aligned if for no other reason than safety.

As far as the different ride height?????? sounds to me like they didnt get the springs seated in the proper locations on the struts or something. I suppose that if the camber is off enough it could make it look higher or lower on one corner over another. Some shops will offer free alignment checks , specially if you paid to have it aligned at their shop. If by some odd reason the springs were to sag in the first month or so would be do to CHEAP springs! My springs on mine are close to 2 plus years old and only sag ive gotten from them is from the added stereo equipment

I would suggest calling around to find a alignment shop that has a pit rack. this will or should overcome the not being able to get on the rack part. Next would be to have them check the supension to insure its not #$%@'d up from the install.

One last thing to consider is after the alignment is done check your tires for unusual wear patterns. Just cause they SAY its algined dont mean its set for proper tire wear. A good alignment tech can usually judge how much its lowered and the size of tire and adjust from factory spec from there. I would fist suggest to get the alginement set within factory tolerances. then have it adjusted to how the tire wears if that makes any sense? If you cant seem to find a good alignment tech, or one that has dealt with lowered cars the main angle of concern assuming they get camber to with in tolerances is "TOE"! I forget what the exzact spec for toe on the civics is but if your running wider tires you will want to set the initial toe setting to be somewhere between spec and max spec toe IN. Because the Wider tire will try to somewhat force the tire out as you drive down the road

hmm... alright lets get an alignment right after i get my car drop. then lets wait another week so that my car drops another inch and get another alignment... really smart... getting an alignment is important but not that important... negative camber? safety? uh... having -2 degree camber in the rear isnt really going to be dangerous. it'll even give you better control for your turns...
but ya reason why i say wait a bit before you get an alignment is cause springs take some time to settle. usually its very noticeable within 3 days but i would wait a week.

guess you've had your eye calibrated recently? say neagtive 2 degrees on right side and pos 1 degree left side. Not a safety issue huh ? If you dont think so then youhave no idea what your talking about. and if your springs settle an inch in one week. you got some pretty crappy springs. If your springs are settling an inch in one week, how much do they settle in one year?

right after you lower your car, check how high it is... its basically stock height... your going to get your car aligned then? a week without getting an alignment isnt going to kill you.
and especially since his car isnt even sitting straight... i dunno this should say that somethings wrong here... most likely the springs arent settled in fully.

eh i have no finger gap but then again i'm running 215-40-18s... what are you running? ya the settling is very noticeable within the first 3 days. thats why i say wait a week before getting an alignment... but then tfnaaf disagree's so
