just checking intrest...
I was woundering how would you guys like to learn how to make your own custom installs like the pro's. Me and my friend Phil Travers owner of A.S Kustomz and who has years in the biz of car audio fabrication and who has been in tons of magazines for his wrk were tossing this idea around for a while. Why not start a fabricating school for those of you who cant make all the cool things you see in the mags but want to learn....kinda like an ITT Tech ...but for fabrication
Your could learn how to wrk with fiber glass and resign, learn the diff between matting and cloth and there holding properties..wood wrking, making cool shapes and designs with cloth, learn about shaping foam, expanding foam, wrk with mar glass, dura glass, kitty hair... see and use some of the tools such as chop guns, resin guns, spray guns...learn how to fram out your own set up...
learn about alarms, car wireing systems..the cool things you can make with relays...how to wire up A/V systems....learn about box making... air volume speks....in faze/out faze...
and the list goes on....you could save yourself thousands of dallers making it yourself rather than paying some one to make it for you...
Classes would be held at his shop for an X amount of days...you get to wrk on your own cars and maybe for the advanced people wrk on customers cars...learn how to work as a team and build a whole set up from start to finish....

wow good responce....
The shop is in La Habra off of Lambert and Harbor..well Like i said this is just an Idea that we were tossing around one day on a short break from wrking on a car..
Phil Is one if not the best teachers around, As for myself I have learnd a great deal from just whatching him wrk, I went form knowing nothing to creating things on my own, he is the one who got me into CF and fiberglassing, to see the ideas just poor from his head and the new things he come's up with is just amazing, I hold a high respect for this guy and i know he wouldnt do you guys wrng.
Like all things time is money, so i would have to see what it would cost and get the run down...but trust when i say if he does go though with it.....there is no end to the learning...every time i go to the shop i learn some thing new..
well so far i count about 11 ...but keep posting up for those of u into it..maybe this will get him to get started on this....I'll show him this post...and get back to you...

I would have been intrested a while back I learned form some of the best Chris Yato, Steve Brown, and Mike Vu, from Alpine. Another thing you have to think about that The Installer Institute already has one of these work shop's every year with Steve Brown leading the way. This is a good idea! Im not trying to rain on your idea just know that other people are already doing this so good luck!
Here's one company already doing it:

wow that one was in florida..to far for me...no way i could leave to go to class there...I read up on how they built that civic for Apine...did u see them build it...there are many ways to get the same affect..I have to admit they did one hell of a job on that car....most of the cars we build are on a short time frame...so we have to build them quick like...you really dont get to get all wild on one...well like the civic anyways....but when given the chance and some one has the funds to do so you can bet the skys the limit on some of the things we can do..
i think this would be a really cool idea....plus its close....
