cam gear tuning
when tuning the aem cam gear do you advance or retard the timing if you want more low end torque? im thinking you advance it (just common since) but since i didnt know anything about it i just wanted to ask the forum.
You must advance for low end and retard for top end...I haven't dyno tuned my cam gear or VAFC II but i did advance my cam gear 2 degrees and I noticed a little more low end torque. Did that help?

Will you still get good gains if you only have a cam gear instead of getting it with an aftermarket cam?? What would be more useful in a race, low end or top end?? Oh yeah, I heard that Skunk 2 is comming out with a cam for our motors.

to get the most power you want to advance the ignition timing 5 degrees not cam timing.
you'll need to run higher octane fuel though so that you will not have any pinging or run into detonation.
