Installed water temp gauge...

I dunno if I'm the absolute first one to do it, but I know not too many people have done it.
It wasn't a bad install once I got the courage to cut the radiator hose. I custom machined my own aluminum sensor fitting to mount the sensor in the upper radiator hose. Because I did it custom, and the other option is drilling and tapping the engine block, I don't think I'm going to write a DIY for this. You need access to a machine shop to make the fitting, if anyone else has that available to them, I have a working drawing (more of a doodle) with dimensions of the fitting.
I went out and played a little redline tag, I got these numbers...
Normal Driving 180-190 degrees F
Beating it, 205 was as high as I got. I don't like fooling around on public roads though... so we'll have to wait for next year and a track to see just how high I can get it to go...

Oh yeah, and the thing in the gauge cluster is a true piece of ****. It said it was up to temp at 125... and at 205, it still hadn't budged.

Ready for questions.... ok, go.

Great job. Any pics yet? I think the temp gauge in the cluster is just to tell you when the car is warmed up.

No, no pics yet... I got a dead digicam battery. The gauge cluster needle really doesn't tell you anything. I don't consider 125 warmed up if it stabilizes at 180, and the oil takes even longer than that to warm up. Its really a useless old lady gauge thats probably just there because it always has been.
