RSX-S, How much better than our Civic?

Other than having a 200-hp engine and 6speed manual transmission, what else is better?

Is the ride quality better? More quieter ride? more comfy? Any input would be useful. Thanks!

Better seats(seats also can fit on civics with modifications, rear disk brakes(01-03 si rear disk will fit on civic), stiffer springs, bigger sway bar(easy upgrade to civic since its bolt on.),steering wheel(possible swap)
most of parts are interchangeble. all i can really say is engine is better than civic. nothing special about rsx type s.

Everything is better about that car. Why do you think people take stuff off of it, and put it on our Civics? It's a sweet, sweet car, and there's nothing bad anyone can say about it.... well, except the insurance must be a biatch to pay.

I installed arm rests in my civic lx haha Was 35 bucks to do. Anyhow things ive noticed when I went from 01 Civic lx coupe auto to a type s..

-Poooowwweeerrrr! Going through the first 3 gears at 8200rpm is damm scary fast. I wish it had LSD to compensate for the slight torque steer.
-They kind of sound the same in vtec except the type s is louder than my civic with an injen cai.
-On the freeway in sixth gear, the type s pulls way harder than my civic in second hehe.
-The *** of the type s is pretty high up and has blind spots like.. whoa.
-Civic has 2 big *** cupholders to take anything 7eleven has to throw at it. The RSX has a total of 5 cup holders (yes, 5!!) of medium size.
-RSX has a nifty 12v outlet in the back of the center console for your ricey needs I have it tapped for my kickpanel neons.
-Engine sits the other way O_o Was wierd changing my oil.. its a whole new animal.
-CAI installation for injen is a pain in the ***
-Headlight bulb installation is a pain in the ***. Can probably pay some 5 year old kid with a box of snickers to swap out your bulbs cause if you have anything above a medium sized hand.. no way you can change the bulbs without removing the headlights.
-My taffeta white car has shiny flakes in the paint now (Premium white pearl) Kinda gives it the chamionship white look.
-The stock tires are crap. They are noisy and dont really work that well >_<
-If im not mistaken, i think the sunroof on the type S is smaller.
-The dash looks l33t
-The steering wheel is much smaller than in the civics.
-Seems like either you sit just a tiny bit lower, or the doors are bigger.
-The interior dome lights and the two little lights on the front ceiling are almost identical and work the same way as in my civic lx. Not the push button one, but the ones where you push the whole clear part in as a button.
-Both cars seem to have about the same leg and head room.
-The folding mirrors are nice No more dumbo ears I wanted to get civic hybrid foldable mirrors for my coupe before but the roof angles made it not work

I think thats all i can think of for now.

Hmm... doesn't sound like it's really worth "upgrading" to a RSX-S unless the user cares about speed. Thanks guys for all the experience.

I might still have my civic if it was a manual. I would have turboed it and that would have been fine with me

The turning circle. Larger than the Caravan.
One thing that's quite odd. Yep. The turning circle is not very great.
Overall, it's a nice car. I love the interior.

The Gauges and factory stereo is better than the Civic's gauges and factory stereo. The body style on the RSX is better too than the civic. IMO, the RSX is more sporty than the 7th Gen Civic Coupe.

Yukonart will become famous soon enough
Don't forget the Type-S (and even the base, duh) is a hatchback. . . which means hauling crap is 10 times easier than in a Civic.

Stephen. . .the whole shape of the car is a wedge, which explains why the door sills sit higher than you Civic's did.

Let's not forget a few other differences:

1. Factory location for HID ballasts
2. 5-lug wheels instead of 4-luggers
3. More pockets for storing crap in the doors
4. Dual-level cupholder area with built-in tray
5. Nicer factory fogs. . . from what I can see
6. A few colors that are more interesting than most Civic colors
7. Factory CD changer integral to head unit
8. Perforated Leather.
9. More performance parts being made for Type-S than for the Civic

I miss having that in my 03 LX (auto). But I always thought if I had a manual, it would get in the way when I shift.

On the plus side: Civics are unlikely to get stolen for their powerful engines.

I have an 02 coupe Vic, my brother has an 03 RSX-S. Actually, after living with both for a while, I find the civic better for daily driving. The RSX is a better weekend car. (Fun factor) The RSX is also a lot louder.
I don't like the huge blind spot in the RSX either. Hmmm, what else....
Not really sure if it's worth the extra money to trade up JUST for the power. I like the looks of both cars. I DON'T care for the SI, with the exception of civicvtec1ps. That SI looks CLEAN.

When I drove a RSX-S, it was alot quiter than my Civic.
It obviously was alot faster than my auto Civic.
The interior is what I loved the most. The seats are great. The interior seems to be made better; you get what you pay for I guess.
When I'm on the freeway with my Civic, its so loud I feel like a thin piece of sheet metal is all thats protecting me from death.
In the RSX, I feel more secure. I must be a freak.
I didn't have trouble with a large blindspot though.

If my Civic was a manual, I'd stick with it.
But it isn't, so I can't wait til I get enough money saved up for a RSX-S.
After being in the RSX, I dont want to trade in for a manual Civic as I planned.

handling wise the US modle of the RSX has a bit of a cross weight problem, but Vs. us, it more then makes up for it with power...... But it also means that the JDM RSX handles better then the USDM RSX....

After racing my boy in my coupe a few times I found that the civic holds up pretty good...either that or Im a way better driver than him...I would always have him beat up until I got to 4th gear, he'd still be in third at the cars power range, so he would then pull away from me...but ****, I love my civic...its not a race car, so I don't give a **** if everybody smokes me...and Im all for looks...that's what the ladies like!!!
