I drove a Z06 Today!!!!!
Today is the day that i got the pleasure of driving a 2000 Yellow Corvette Z06.
So, i like my civic, a lot, clean nice inexpensive but it will never be a corvette Z06. Yeah, yeah big price difference, i know. No flame please...
How it went.
First i noticed that the shifter has no play in it, none at all. The shift from gear to gear is sooo short. First gear was nice but i didn't want to get on it yet, 2nd even better... I put the pedal all the way down at about 3000 RPM and 6000 RPM came really fast. The engine was loud and beefy, no turbo whine, nothing but horsies. I continued banging gears to 4th and stopped and by that time i was going too fast for comfort, (city streets). I was impressed, the gears had major, major torque at all RPMs.
Reasons why i didn't get on the car
1. My dad was in the car and it is his car.
2. we were in the city
On the way back from PC Club, my dad dove, we hit a lonely street and being that it is his car flew from first and he speed shifted at 7000RPM and we almost lost control, the rear tires were spinning even with TCS on.
. The car had me pinned back in the seat at every gear. I love that car.
BHP 385 @5600
Torque 350 @ 4400
Weight 3221lbs
Top Speed 174
1/4Mile - 12.97 @ 110
I still love my civic though.!

Re: I drove a Z06 Today!!!!!
Very cool car, but a couple of corrections...
2001 Z06 (2000 was still the year they made the "hardtop" model.
Both HP and Torque are at 385 (stock)

Hey, no prob
as long as we're talking about details, the Z06 actually weighs about 80-90 lbs less than you stated also

Thanks for the corrections... I just looked for quick specs. Cool, 35lbs more torque.
