How loud are your belts?
How loud are your belts?
Is it normal to be able to hear the belts in my car when standing outside, above any other noise the engine makes? (car is stock currently). I'm just trying to make sure I don't have a loose belt or anything..and it's not high pitched or anything like that, you just hear the belts going. I know it's a dumb question..but hey I get paranoid about car stuff
.
. Heh it's not my belts I hear, it's my engine. I figured it was my belts because I hear it more on the right side of the car..but I open the hood up and listened closer, it's coming from my engine. The engine is more on the right side so I guess that's why.
I guess the sound is normal, well I hope so anyway

easy fix to belt noise = a bar of soap
turn the car on and gently push the soap on the belt while it's running...
me and my friend did it on his old car and it worked pretty good...
