Car stalled in flood water, need help.
Well I was at work today, I deliver pizzas for pepperonis in richmond, tx and it was pouring rain tonight and I was driving through a neigboorhood that was flooded and I was driving through the water really slowly and it got higher, then my car died. When I tried to start it again, it just made a clicking noise. After the water went down, I tried starting it again it it just kept making that clicking noise. I ended up leaving it in front of some peoples house. Does anybody know what might be wrong. When the car died, the water was up to the bumper. It covered my whole muffler. I also have a injen RD cold air intake. I am thinking that I sucked water into the engine but I am not sure. I am wondering what might be wrong and how much it would cost to get fixed. I tried to start it after like 3 hours and it wants to start but wont. Any help please.

ok, I posted yesterday about my car stalling in flood waters and basically I have a cold air intake and custom cat back exhaust and my muffler was submerged in water and I guess my air filter was too. Well the car was fixed today, they sucked out alot of water from the throttle body and the rest of the engine and had to replace the oil and transmission fluid about 10 times, but here is my problem, when I started it, the exhaust sounded really loud. When I drove the car around and then floored it, the muffler made a high and loud sound like there was no muffler. It sounded bad. I was wondering does anyone think I need to replace the muffler, or need to replace the air filter to correct this problem to make it sound like a normal cat back exhaust? I need my car for work at 3 tomorrow and will try to correct this problem before then, someone please help.

car stalled in flood waters, going to dealership
well my car is now really fu**ing up, the check engine light is on and when I shift it only shifts into second and sometimes third gear and just revs at other gears, and when I put the car in park, I cant get it out of park, it is locked, I have to let the car sit for a minute or too, turn it off as well and try it again untill I can shift into drive. Anyone know what might be the problem, even from the engine?
When your engine bay gets dipped in water, that can screw almost anything (and everything) up. Electronics and engine components do not handle getting wet very well.
You're taking it to the dealer ... that's probably the best (and only) thing to do right now. Let them check everything over and thoroughly clean out whatever needs to be cleaned out or replaced.

I'm not sure if insurance would cover this, since technically, there wasn't any accident involved. Would something like this fall under comprehensive? I dunno...
You're gonna have to check with your insurance about this.

well I dropped it off at honda this morning and told them I needed warranty work done because my engine and tranny was messing up, and the guy asked me "what makes you think you have a warranty on your car" What kind of idiot is he. I told him because it is a 02 civic and I paid for a warranty. I didnt say anything about water damage though.

also short ram intakes are only necessary if you live in a area that floods like everyday, but here in houston it doesnt flood that much and this time I happened to turn down the wrong street that was flooded, my fault though, I shouldnt have driven at all.

Well I got my car back today from honda today, they had replace the throttle body and some senors and reset all the engine codes and now my transmission works like new. It was covered under my API warranty, whatever the hell that is.
