great encounter with a douche bag!
So im driving down west broad street in richmond and i park in front of subway to go in and grab a bite to eat. I get out of my car and this guy in an old neon parks in front of me and gets out and is asking me all about my car. He is like what do you have done so i went through a couple of my mods. He says so you havent turned up your hp at all? I was like what do you mean turn it up. He says honda's are just like my neon, and if you take it to a shop you can have them turn up your hp using your computer on your car. I was like do you mean the ecu, and did you change the ecu to have it tuned to your car? He said no there is a a switch on your ecu that you can adjust your hp, and a thing on your transmission for daily driving, highway driving, or racing. I said there is no such thing on any car, and went through how the only way you can get more hp out of an ecu is to get an aftermarket one, and there is no way to do anything of that sorts with the transmission. I was being very nice and just talking, well he blows up and starts telling me i know nothing and that his neon would smoke the **** out of my car, blah, blah, blah. Then he pulls out a $50 dollar bill and says im willing to put this on it. So just my luck i had just been to the ATM, and matched him. He went way out where i knew it was safe, very desolate area, with no cars. Lined em up, his friend gave us the go, we had a mark we were racing to, little to say, i pulled on him like no other, won my $50, and told him he needs to go turn his hp up some more, went to subway and bought myself two subs!

nice! holy crap man if that was me i would be so afraid to put down money like that, i mean how can someone so stupid want to put down money on a race that he knows nothing about. if he had a fast car that could have been some scam.

he let you see his motor?
You should've asked him to throw down some more money.
dont they have that switch on bmws, like m3's for shifting. where you can put it in regular or sport. i heard they do that on some sports cars for a little more hp and all and then u put it in regular for daily driving. i believe they have this cuz i saw it on tv. i believe its in the crossfire and bmws and stuff. anyone kno what i mean. i think its more responsive engine and better shifting and handling

Yeah they have sports and normal for BMW. My cousin got a 328i and he has the tip-tronic (???) shifting where he can choose sports shift or normal shift. Basically, sports allows higher RPM before automatically shifting (even in tip-tronic).
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
It's also present in his Jaguar...rich bastard.

yeah they do have those on some cars, a matter of fact there was a switch on my 88' camry, for regular or fast, and all it did was made the transmission shift later so the engine would go to higher in rpm's, but not a dam bit faster. Basically for fuel economy
That sounds like a guy I work with. He owns a 2002 neon and then he actually showed it to me. He has a ricerocket. Plane and simple. It had APC stickers, clear tails, chrome hubs from wal-mart, a chrome tip(which he said gave him a lil boost in HP), and what else to top it all off.....a Type R symbol. Gotta love it.

That sounds like a guy I work with
1) A guy i used to work with though he got "25-30 horsepower" from a cold air intake on his mirage. He said it made a weird sound, we asked what it sounded like and the only thing he could compare it to was the idle 65' Mustang with a 351 and lots of lift. We just look at him and go "If your mirage shakes violently and goes TATATATATAT ROOOM TATATATATA at idle then you might wanna get that looked at."
2) People asking me to do a burnout in my mazda (<-- full time 4WD)
3) Im in the turning lane and the civic I just embarrased is in the lane going straight. He says "Lets go again" so i look at him and say "Uhh im in the turning lane" he goes "Aww thats what they all say".
4) A guy asked me if my mazda was a 1st gen corvette
5) Guy at carshow who is an "expert" on launching AWD cars cause he has an eclipse GSX. He asked me what i launch at, i tell him 5000. He tells me i should launch it at 8000. Im quick to inform him that i redline at 6500. He goes Oh?! launch it at 7000. I ask him where his car is. Aparently its at home with a busted tranny.
6) ive heard 5 different definitions of double clutching, none of them being close to being right

DAMN! good ish. What kind of Subs did you get? I usually get the Italian BMT, but my victory sub would be probably the Sweet Onion Teriyaki, or some other hot sub.

Some cars, just turn up the BOOOST! haha....
Anyhow, yeah, I have experienced sport mode on 3 cars: M3 SMG, Maserati Coupe, and Maserati Quatroporte. They sport mode on the SMG made the throttle response more sensative and shift of gears quicker. Same goes with the Maserati's, plus steering was more sensative.
