Question Taking Off your rims for the winter?

Hey guys,

I'm sort of new to the whole springs and rims deal. I was wondering when everyone takes there rims off for the winter?

While I have your attention. Do you ever put your stock springs back in for winter too? Do you think it is worth

I think I am going to take out my springs for the following reasons:
1. I don't have to worry about scratching up my body kit if it snows.
2. It will prolong the life of my stock shocks...

Thanks for your input,

Rob

well u dont exactly have to take off ur rims i see ppl driving around with them on. i think im going to take mine off when i see the first frost. as for springs i thinks its a kinda waste of money to take it to a shop and get it taken off for $150-$200 and to put it on again in the spring for $150-200 after 2 winters you could afford performance shocks so i dunno thats just my opinion. thats money you could spend on other mods. I have coilovers so its not such a big deal about the snow n stuff so its alright for me i guess heheh

I probably going to put my steelies back on at first frost. The SiR rims I have on now have pathetic tires.

As for removing the springs, it wouldn't matter to me anyways. My kit is so freakn low that raising it that extra inch won't make a big deal. Besides, I have a feeling it's going to be a warm winter. If you remove your springs it won't save your shocks by much. Probably 2-3 months extra life tops. You can buy used shocks at the junkyard for about as much as it would cost you to take off your springs and then put them back on again.

If you have summer tires, swap your rims. If you have all seasons just keep em on. Winter isn't THAT bad in Vancity.

You don't need to take your rims too a shop it's super easy to do it your self!! I'm going to take mine off but since import fest is 2 months away I'm prob just going to wait until after that.

It would cost me 200 to have them taken off and put back on at G5. I don't know of any performance shocks you get for our cars for $400! However, I do see your point. I could be half way to having konin's

Cal what did you pay for your coilovers? What brand name are they?

Reece,

Randy is working pretty late tonight and then it is one of our best friends birthday. I don't think we can make it. Plus to be honest with you I can't afford the $30 club fee right now...

I play a lot of volleyball and it's hitting me in the pockey if you know what I mean. It will probably cost me the better part of $250 this month alone to play.

I sort of want to come but It does not leave us too much time to get there and then have to come back to ROCK by 9:00

Rob
