Civic Turbo vs. Prelude

Just wondering if any of the turbo civics have raced any preludes. My friend who wants a prelude tells me that they can run 12's with bolt on's. I though it was but ive never seen one go. I think he is talking about the top of the line model (sh?)
I'm hoping that and SF civic could take one down!

I don't thin prelude exterior looks all that nice. I've driven a 2000. The interior is nice and the handling is good though.

A lude would be lucky to run mid 14's with bolt-ons.

ya, althought this was purely a drivers race, the kid in the prelude is an isane driver were as the kid in the civic was a decent driver, but my one friend has a prelude sh with all the bolt on goodies, header, cat exhaust, intake, pulleys, fuel rail, throttle body, intake mani, raced my other friend with a fully built gsr motor swapped into his 94 civic sedan. the prelude itched out a win. the gsr can run 13.4 on slicks with the original owner of the car driving, my friend that owns the car now has not run it, but he isnt very good at driving. so i dunno about 12s, but 14s are very possible.

4 bangin: the race didnt happen, i was just askin if a lude could be an sf modded civic. So the guys that you know with the sh and bolt ons can run 13's? that more than just i/h/e. My friend thinks that if he had a lude with i/h/e he would run low 13's, high 12's...i think thats trash but who knows.
mid to high 14's sounds right.

ok, my buddy has a 97 SH lude with Fuel rail, CAI, Exhaust, pullies, short shifter. He maybe runs a high 14. Stock, preludes are low 15 sec cars...its because of their weight. A SF turbo Civic will roast a prelude, Base or SH. I ran one on the freeway the other night from 50-125mph. As soon as i hit VTEC in 3rd my car started to pull, and kept pulling through 4th till we stopped. I just have CAI and exhaust on my K20A2 swap. But dont even try to race one through some turns.

lol... 14s are more like it like everyone said.. they run 15.1 or sos stock... so with bolt ons and all my guy saw a 14.7 out of his ride and he had i/h/e/camgears/fuel rail/regulator.. pulled nice, just VERY heavy car... to see 12s in a lude you need a SERIOUS turbo setup.. no bs.. they would have to be pushing 420+ WHP i figureto see a 12.9 on NICE slicks... get your SF kit.. run times like me and catalyst (mine will be better with better tires).. then shut him the hell upat the track where its legal..

yah i didnt think they could pull off a 12 with bolt on's, but he kept insisting. He was like a turbo on you're car wont give you 300 hp...and im like horsepower is all relative...so i think with the sf kit its game over for this clown!!! hahaha...i just need 6 g's....loan?
future: if you can get into 12's i will go crazy....that would be purely rediculous considering the mods you have...what else besides the sf kit do you have. Do u have the equal length manifold and alcohol injection and all that?

your buddy with the 01 with I/H/E will run a low 14...i doubt he will dip into the 13's. bolt ons dont do much for the preludes.

I raced a 93 Prelude with an H22 in it- we were dead even for a mile and then he realized that I had just put the turbo on my car and that it was maybe @ 4# of boost
Funny thing is that I have asked him again since then if he wants a rematch and he keeps saying his clutch is (%*ed up- poor guy......good thing he is a friend of mine.....

Sport Compact Car Magazine has the 2000 Prelude SH doing the quarter in 15.5

Ive raced a number of preludes, everyone of them (with one exception) got spanked. That one exception was a Jackson Racing supercharged one. Me and him were dead even up to 120 then i started to pull very slowly. These races were done in my mazda

The problem with the prelude is they weight alot and have a very thin cylinder wall, so without some major work you can't get very farwith that engine. Thats why you don't hear about many sub 13 second preludes. With bolt ons they should run a high 14 low 15. My mazda runs a low 14, so with the supercharger the prelude should run a low 14 high 13.

Ive seen a Base 99 Prelude run 14.9 with just CAI...i think it could get low 14's with a header and exhaust ontop.

The SH Prelude is actually slower than the regular one. I know for a fact that theire way heavier. Some guy that lives around here has a turbo prelude, and he told me he downgraded the engine, or something, before he put the turbo in. Don't know why.
