Unhappy JUST back from track!..wheeelspin like WHOA

hey guys... just back from track tonight... got the methanol working... and ran on my buddy's old *** 555r's.... 205-55-14.. WRONG size for our cars... WAY too much wheelspin... but, heres my times... no scanner... i was @ 10psi just so you know... car ran NIce on it...

R/T - 1.222 (fell asleep looking at the 10.5 sec. muscle car next to me..LOL)
60' - 2.419
330- 6.334
1/8 - 9.393
MPH- 82.03
1000- 12.015
1/4 - 14.194
MPH - 103.18

all you guys can se by the MPH and the start i shouldbe been EASILY in the 13's... but, i atribute it to two things..

one: i havent been to track in 3 years or so
two: those nittos were IMPOSSIBLE to not spin like mad... WAY too small for our cars.. i think i wouldve done GREAT with 15's or 16's maybe 555r's in like 205-55-16.. let me know what you guys think./....

This is a little off topic, but with you OEM lip kit, does your intercooler stick out of the bottom?

14.1 isnt bad at all...especially if you had crappy tires and hadnt been to the track in a while...hitting a mid-high 13 shouldnt be a problem for you later on..

yeah.. im thinking mid 13s once i get a lil more practice and better tires if i get some money.... that was FULL interior too.. so i guess i could get cheap and take out pass. and back seats... save that 60lbs or so.. thats uncorrected time as well... idk.. i need to learn to launch this thing... maybe it isnt me at all.. just shitty tires.. i thought i was launching well.... tires just NEVER gripped....

If you can fit them get some 24.5x8x13 inch Hoosiers. They have them discounted for 95 a piece off their website.

Look at Bogart, Weld, Or Keizer for 7lb aluminum wheels

24" is total diameter, right? hmm.... not sure if i can fit the 8" wide.. hmmm.. car is REALLY low... how much are the 13" wheels youre talking about.,.. and i dont think we can run those on our cars due to rotors... hmmm...i could also get some lenso's... those are VERY light as well... less than 8lbs i think.. shop i know REALLY well has those sitting around... 13" .. one bronze, one white... but WHO CARES!... maybe i could get a deal!.........

yea if you go slicks, make sure that you upgrade your axles...i doubt the civic ones will hold up with that much power and grab.
Im hoping to get to the track soon, i should be mid to low 14's with my CAI and exhaust on my swap.

13's should fit with the proper backsapcing and spacer. Yeah Lenso's would work too. You'd have to call these companies and find out what they offer.

24.5 tall 8 wide 13 rim. thats how you read them. 8 would fit they would just stick out of the fender some.

If 13's are not do able they make 23.5x7.5x15 inch M&H slicks.

I'll have 26x8x15's for my ride

just got line on 15" rotas and 205-50-15 azenis
Azenis are not drag tires. They've got stiff as hell sidewalls for autocross (basically they're intended use). You won't get the wrinkle or whatever you call it... they'll just sit there and spin.

scrunch...but wrinkle is the same thing pretty much. you want tires w/ a big sidewall when you drag race to allow scrunch.

Its true that the Falkens were designed for croners, but I've heard form the guys that Drag Race out here in Las Vegas that they grip as well as nittos 555R.........

From their own mouths
My timeslips show me that the Azenis produce just as good 60 ft times as the Nitto 555r's. Thats impressive considering the Nitto's are drag radials. With the Azenis its all about tire pressure.
and
The 555r's really let me down. Sixty foot time never really improved much and they are more $ than the Azenis.

fastest 60ft with azenis 2.15
fastest 60ft with 555r's 2.13(is that worth almost 30 more a tire)

My 60ft's are actually less consistent with the r's.
???? Dont really know my self, as I dont Drag race. I can say that they are AWSOME for autocross. (At least for my class)
