Aem Cai??

Just wonderin' I bought my AEM CAI about a month ago..installed it myself and yes I am a gurl I can do things to my car on my own But anyways..I was wondering if anyone else had any problems with it in their 7th Gen Civic? I had to replace the filter 3 times before getting it right. The first 2 with the stock filter that came with the packaging..and then the 3rd time I jst bought a urethayne one..Just curious..

Because of the fact the tranny is right near the filter head the rubber filter top would get so hot and start to flex easily with the metal clamp on it it would cut right into it and fall off..

it is a little close to the tranny on mine to but that has'nt happened to me at all sounds like you might need to adjust the tranny bracket a little to get the clearance you need

She means that she replaced the K&N filter 3 times...

You are not supposed to replace that K&N cone filter. Buy the "K&N filter recharge kit" and use it to clean your existing filter. Clean it every 5000 miles or so.

i have heard of that happening to the cheap ebay cai's but not on AEM's stuff. The filter should not be touching anything and have as much clearance all around as possible. To do that it takes a bit of adjusting on the lower pipe and how far up the pipe the filter is. Also make sure the clamp is tightening on the pipe all the way around, and not just the filter.

Yes I've done them a bunch of times before but this one was quite different..and I don't know where else I would move the bracket..but anyhow it's all better now..I didn't even pay for the intake only thing I did end up paying for through the whole thing was the urethane filter

I have the same intake and mine fit just fine. I'm not sure what is going on with yours...you might want to try to adjust the piping on the intake a little...
