You will never "feel it". Its just there as an extra re-inforcement. A larger sway bar is the ONLY reason you would actually ever need it, and even then, all it does is keep the rear suspension in 1 piece. I installed my Spoon tie bar before I put in the RSX Sway... it does nothing.

Yeah, but the Spoon one actually looks like it's effective. The DC Sports relies on the torque of the bolt to hold the end brackets in place so that the main bar can stiffen things up. Other designs that are straight across are better. The Ebay ones are very nice IMO.
For example, I know that the tie bar that comes with the Progress sway bar is effective. I know this because the chassis groans back there when you do certain things. This is because it's so stiff back there that other parts of the chassis that aren't stiff move in relation to the stiff parts and you get noise. I'm going to try a whole ton of things to get rid of this groan. That's later though...

To my understanding, the Rear lower Tie bar only exzists becaus earlier gen civics (Race Preped ones) had a bad habbit of ripping the lower control arms out of their mounts. To alievate the problem, people reinforced the mounts with a Tie bar. Do our cars need it? I don't know, but why take the chance?

Sway bars and tie bars are different things.
so far the only reason you'd need a Rear lower Tie bar is if you've upgraded the Rear sway bar. and of the tie bars available, the one that comes with the Progress rear sway bar is Very solid. If you didnt get that one then there are others that are probably as good. (Spoon)
