can a amp blow an altnator?
it can happen, but it rarely rarely happens.
the only situation i know of it happening was a 2000 watt amplifier on a stock firebird alternator, and the first time he fired it up he did a bass burp and did zero to 170 amp draw in under half a second
but chances are, its not the amplifier that is makign the check engine light go on, more like an issue with wiring, or if you had the seat out and turned the car on, etc.
if something got unplugged or if you blew the right fuse, the light will go on.

the vehicle E-system is strange like that, i dont think thats the alternator, ive noticed that in my car too, on occasion, staying at 12 and not bumping up to 14.
i dont think that alone is an alternator issue, i think that if thats your only problem theres gotta be another cause, but if you want to test that theory out, pull your power wire off the battery and drive around for a week or two and see how that changes your voltage.
the honda electrical system is the most finicky and odd electrical system ive ever seen, but if you have everything installed in a reliable way, then i dont see how the alternator could be at fault or how the amplifiers alone could cause that problem

o **** i forgot to say its not a civic its a chrsyler lol
sorrie but i dunno i was driving and then i smelled some elictracal burning so i turned off my system and then it went away and then i got home and noticed my check engine light on and my battrey gaugh really lower then it usually is

check yoru cable runs, you might have shorted something out, that might spike the voltage and cause the car to freak out.
unfortunately, i dont know enough about chryslers to give you a definite answer, but to give you the worst case scenario, you shoarted the power cable, and it traveled through the electrical system and burned some of your stock wireharness wires. this is an awful and expensive thing to happen/fix, but like i said its the absolute worst case scenario.
in this case, if it hit a non-vital system, like an airbag wire or other system, it should have been enough to fire the check engine light, or possibly a spike would have been enough to do so. meanwhile, the shorted wire might have been enough to kill the battery and not allow it to hold a charge. my batter for sure is on its last legs, i predict all my problems will go away on the purchase of a new battery.
but for sure i would have a diagnostic done, find out why that check engine light clicked on, the computer should save the fault it found to fire it off, who knows, maybe it was something stupid that fixed itself.
but for sure id start with that check engine light and chase it by tracing yoru powerwire through, as well as checking the stock e-system wireharness for burns. you smelled something burning? find it! theres your source of the symptoms....

lol ah icic i jsut figured it was my altnator or sumthing buring.. i unhooked the fuse to the amps and it still came on and stuff... i also noticed my oil pursuure gagage runing really high od persure thinks for the help tho white rabbit
stfu
its the battery!!! hahaha i put it on a charger and noticed that if i went from 2 amps to 10 amps charger thingy it woudl stay the samE! thefore it wont hold a charger higher then that!
but that still doesnt explaion the check engine light

im glad to know you isolated it as a battery problem, that confirms what im doing is the right way to go too.
however, the burning electronics and check engine light are still a couple of really big issues you gotta take care of, all teh worse if they are related....
also to track down teh source of each, you dont want it happening again!

aight geuss waht i took it to firestone and my atalnator went bad but because they saw that the sound system was there they balmed it on that! i shoulda tooken it out frist but o well. cant complain i woulda done the same thign if i was firestone
