RX8 OVER RATED
http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9347
Apparently they are revising the RX-8 horsepower figures: the Manual is being revised down 3.6% to 238hp, and the Auto down 4.5% to 197hp.
Anyone who has already purchased an RX-8 will be receiving a letter from Mazda offering two alternatives:
Mazda will buy back the car. (He didn't have the full details - they'll be in the letter.)
Mazda will provide free scheduled servicing for the duration of the standard warranty plus a $500 debit card.
i think it is an emmisions issue, not really a a faulty thing with the car, so not that big of a deal, but now, some people will return them, so the dealers will have to sell them used.
time for a trip to the mazda dealer

I agree with LilJoe, I don't really like the car that much either. The last Mazda that turned my head was the last release of the RX-7. Mazda got into bed bigtime with Ford and that can only kill reliability as we've seen in Player's link.

player: oh yeah, seeing as pete dropped his ride, you want 'em?
actually, LilJoe asked for them before anyone else did...so if LilJoe doesn't want them, then we can deal?
how does $100 sound? IT BETTER SOUND GOOD! hehehehe

LilJoe: thanks for taking all the pics and the video!
I don't think I would have had half as much fun if you guys weren't there. It woulda got boring waiting for my next run!
you guys better compete next time! if not with your car, then with mine (and we can workout a tire/rim swap for the day?).
man o man....the SOLO was SO MUCH FUN!!! it was retarded!!!
but man...I have some SERIOUS understeer. it sucks
half of it is probably due to my driving, but the rest might be because of the tires, and my dampening settings on the coilovers.
either way: can't wait until the next event!!! woot woot!
BTW: I beat a 5.0L yesterday at the event!
actually, a type-R was running just before me, and I saw his time just before I left the start box: 65 seconds...then my time for that run: 64 seconds
hehehe
felt good!

player-I would go for the $100.00 big ones instead of giving it up to tek, I mean, you have actually seen tek, right?
Wait a minute and on second thought, I have seen a pic of tek, I would give it up to him for 6 hours if I were you instead of shelling out the clams!

Did that one get a little too complicated for you, Erik? I'm sorry, I won't do doubles by insulting then complimenting so you can keep up!
I relented, I said I would of personally given it up to tek rather than the clams.
But, I just could be a tight wad and that is why I would go that way!
As I have said before and will say again, you all are adorable to me!

player: the drop is 1.75" all around. they are goldline springs.
you can definitely take them off and put the stock ones back on and goto the dealership, but it'll be a bit of a pain in the butt.
i busted my shocks in about 6 months, give or take. it all depends on how you drive, and where you drive.
you can check them out whenever you're in my part of town
or I might be able to bring them this friday. we'll see!
