Question Clearing Headlights - Removing Bumper

i am going to clear my headlights. Do you have to remove the front bumper or can you work around it. I saw the post where you had to remove it. I am hoping it can be done with the front bumper on....

u really dont have to remove the entire bumper.....side the screws at the sides and the clips on top of the grill......and then pull a lil and you can work with the bumper hanging

for the best result: make sure you use some masking tape to tape around the black adhesive stuff, so when you pull the insert out, so that black adhesive wont stick on your chrome part.

You really dony have to move your frony bumper all you have to do is open up the front bumber enough so you can stick the wrech to remove the screw under the headlight and dont forget th e screw next to the fender

cryption: painted his lights? I can't really tell. What color were they painted? It looks kinda shadowed. Is that the intention?

Also, when you clear headlights, do you HAVE to have a yellow bulb there? I didn't think you did, but I saw civic HB the other day, with cleared headlights, but a yellow bulb there, so it just got me to thinking...

Remove the red screws/clips, pop sides of bumper and pull forward, remove green 10mm screws, remove headlights. Simple as that. Especially if it is the first time you've taken the bumper off and you are scared of scratching it up.

the DIY is not very informative when it comes to actually doing the clearing!

everyone keeps asking about the bumper, thats the easy part. but i want to know more information about actually clearing the headlight.
what is the best way to seperate the case? do you use hair dryer?
i am concerned about puting it in the oven so i want to use a hair dryer.
also, how do you re-Seal the headlight? do you buy caulk?? laytex? how do you get the head light back together.
this is the kinda stuff i wanna know. i am going to be doing this today, and i need some extra help so please post some specifics. THANK YOU. also if you have a link to a thread that explains what im asking that would be great too.

and now to actually help a little bit...after they are removed I popped off the little metal clips....these are very obvious. I used a small flat tip screw driver to seperate the lens from the light assembly (just be gentle), after I painted the junk I just slapped them back together and there was enough sealer left from before to seal them again. I have been through 4 or 5 very hard rains recently and no leakage problems at all.

Can anyone answer my light question?

I asked if you needed to replace the bulb with a yellow/orange bulb if you take out the colored corner. I don't think so, but I saw a Civic HB with cleared lights, but colored bulbs... made me paranoid.

Someone please help settle my paranoia!

Thanks for the info... Now to decide whether I'm willing to risk having all white in the headlights. I think it looks cool, but paying a fix-it ticket isn't nearly as fun...

Stick the lights in the oven to loosen the glue. Then stick the pieces back in and use the original goo to seal em back up.
