wow...resorting to personal attacks like a 5th grader. i never attacked you in this thread.
my response was "its called bad engineering/technology."
again...my response.. "oh..and the v6 tib now sounds like a v6 mustang. big whoop."
not one single personal attack. this is a forum for open opinions. i expressed my opinion and you attacked me for it. you're now reduced to a 5th grader. congradulations.
edit: mods can leave this thread open for discussion as this child here does not offend me.

Ya i also test drove the tiberion it does have a nice punch to it when u press on it. Has some good torque but it seemed like it didnt have any high end. But for the price its not that bad
You can buy a new V6 Tib for less than 17 grand, not bad at all. 180 Horse out of a V6 is nothing to brag about, but I've heard simple I/E upgrades put the 5spd in the 14's. Sorry no proof, I've just been told this from multiple sources.

interior was very nice.
The new Tiburons are actually nice. The V6 is a good effort by Hyundai, but it has its problems, like any first time effort from any company. First, it is aluminum, it is not able to support as much horsepower is the I4. Secondly, it is an overweight fat *** compared to its competition, it weighs waaay too much. Gas mileage is the same as my Vette, that is just sad for a compact car.
The clutch has been a problem for Hyundai, which they corrected in Dec 2002, so all new Tiburons manufactured from that date on should be all right. The I4 is the way to go in my opinion, gas mileage is ok, plus it can support up to 500 horsepower without getting internals modified. Reliability is much better than it has been. I can name at least 6 people who have had their Hyundais for more than 100,000 miles with zero problems. Most of the problems I hear people talking about with Hyundais have to do with 1) paint 2) clutch 3) sunroof. Hardly enough to consider the Tiburon junk. After all, it is faster than our cars.

I don't have the exacts but J.D Power and Associates rated Hyundai within the top 3 for the last couple years. Rememeber Honda when it came here, piece absolute crap. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one now where as a few years ago I wouldn't touch one
i raced a V6 tib yesterday in my stock 02 Si...blew by him like he was nothing. maybe he couldnt drive, but im thinkin that the car just isnt built well. regardless the price for the tib, i will always choose to fork over the extra dough for the honda name...i dont trust those koreans..haha. kidding...
The cars are well built. Quality has come a long way and their sales are showing it. I find Hyundai motors get very buzzy when revved. They have some work to do in refinement. But, overall, Hyundai is putting out better quality products than GM, Ford or Chrysler.

It's way down there. Of the 2-3 people I knew with hondas, they all had problems.
However, dissing the car cus' it has a V6 with 180 hp is wrong. That car can burn your civic anyday. That car can burn an EP3 any day, for the same price! So don't diss the performance specs of the car.
I don't like Hyundai's, but I think they did an admirable job with the new Hyundai. Definitely a step in the right competitive direction.

of course it can blow by an EP3 or civic....its not in the same class...
its got a V6 with only 180 HP
the EP3 has a 4 cyl with 160...thats why people are dissin the technology...just cause its got a little bit more HP doesnt mean its all that much better
you can also factor in the weight to power ratio if you really want

Ep3 a V4? It's not a V4, it's an Inline 4. DOHC doesn't mean it's a V block.
Different class ...if it's in the same price range it's the same class for me. What do you mean by "class"? Class of engines? Why should the EP3 be in a lower "class"? I guess the S2000 should only be compared with other 4 cylinder cars like the civc?
This "my motor's smaller so it's okay for me to be slower" doesn't work when you charge the same price as bigger faster motors. I don't care if its 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder, an EP3 is disappointing performance wise.

Mercedes are pretty mediocre in build quality in my opinion, especially for the big bucks you pay. And it shows; why is Lexus, the quintessential mid-range luxury car, so high up there? Doesn't even come close to the 100k+ tag of the S500, S600. Yet it's a better built car.

i'd prefer an Acura TSX, TL, CL, MDX or an infiniti G35 or FX45 over the IS tho.
Reputations are very hard to turn around, you'll get the ignorants saying "but it's a Hyundai" namely because of Hyundai's initial reputation. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. Shutting something out just because it's the thing to do is crap. Unless you've owned one or driven one, you're just another ignorant fool.
