Friend has a 03 GT V6 Tib... That thing is pretty damn nice. He hasn't had a problem with it so far, and he's got about 30K miles on it.

180 is weak unless its coming out of a N/A 4 banger.

200 from the TSX is amazing.

everyone is saying that the tiburon v6 is crap because it "only" makes 180 hp. don't forget thats its not that big of a v6....only 2.7 liters. and just because there are some 4 cylinders with more power, do you actually think their torque can compare? the advantage of having the bigger engine with equal or lesser power is that you get a much better torque curve, which equals better low end response and much more usable power during daily driving. nobody races the WHOLE time they are in their car.

honda 4 cylinders are reliable as f***....no doubt about it. but just because an engine has less cylinders doesn't mean it's more reliable. an engine with more cylinders say a v6 would have less stress on each cylinder. and im not comparing a honda 4 cylinder with the tiburon v6, but something engineered with almost the same quality....say like an accord 4 cylinder vs. the accord v6

they've only been in US since like 89....sure they have been there since the 70's in Korea...but i know that they did not pay much attention on there engines...they have also used many mitsubishi engines as well in the 80's and early 90's...and what i mean by 5 years is that if u check hyundai cars from 5 years ago..they were crap...the engine's sucked...and the quality sucked...but now..its a whole new ballgame for hyundai (compaired from 5 YEARS ago..)

plus Honda's been there way before the 70's...

hyundai has been around for a while like honda, but their reputation for reliability over the years is horrible. they have a lot of making up to do

Hyundai hasn't been around nearly as long as Honda has. Give them a break, and give them some time. They'll get there.

its a lot easier to ruin your own reputation, but building it back takes WAY longer than it took to destroy it.

you cant really say anything about it having a 2.7 liter and that being low...look at the s2000, 2.0 liter, 240 hp
