Haven't posted here in awhile but hopefully some knowledgeable poster will educate me on this. I have a 2001 Civic EX with an automatic transmission. When slowing down to a stop, the transmission makes a loud click noise as it downshifts each gear. Is this a real problem or just an annoyance?

I'm not sure if youve done a search in the forums for this. I know this question has come up quite a bit. I've had my 01 civic ex a/t since Nov of 2000. Basically one of the first ones out. It clicks when I brake depending on the circumstance of the driving. This is because the shoe slides back and forth and it is a normal sound. You can usually hear it more when you're backing out of a parking spot and brake and then go forward. Anyways, its normal. Dont freak out. I've had my brakes changed twice at the dealership and my car is perfect working order.. even past 50,000 miles.
