'03 LX COUPE rocking chair

I have a '03 LX coupe that I've only been driving for less 2 months.

a couple of weeks ago, I started noticing that my driver side seat was "rocking", and I don't "rocking" as in good, but "rocking as in BAD.
It only "rocks" just a little, BUT enough to irritate me when I'm driving.

Now, let me try and explain this "rocking" motion; It's like sitting on a chair with one leg shorter than the other three.

Does anyone else have this same problem?

Any suggestions on what the problem / solution could be?

There is a TSB on this. Just go in and show them.. they'll fix it. A lot of us have/had that.

Yeah...Honda will "fix" your rocking chair...they will put the exact same part back in that is defective in the first place...so your chair will be rocking again soon. Honda hasn't actually redesigned these bushings and spacers that they say are the problem. Funny...Honda has had almost three years to really fix it and they haven't. My seat in my '01 Ex Coupe is still rocking...after no less than five times of being "fixed." Then finally I got to meet with the District Service Manager and he pretty much tells me there is nothing that can be done. Bullsh*t!!! I've reading some Element forums lately and can you believe that Honda has put the exact same parts in the brand new Element???...even after knowing for three years that there is a problem with them. Honda used to do things right the first time around...now you can't even get them to correct a mistake. UGH!!! Sorrry...had to vent!

I have an '02 civic sedan ex and had the rocking problem as well. Honda replaced the whole entire seat frame including the height adjustment mechanism and it fixed it but I still notice a little "play" when I manually try to rock the seat back and forth by hand to see how tight it is. I also had to have my 3rd brake light replaced due to rattling inside and also the emergency brake handle due to an internal rattle by the button that was driving me nuts. Way to go Honda

I had the 01 ex. I got the car used and noticed that the car would rock when I was slowing down. I took it to honda and they replaced the bushings in the seat. Take it to them and they will fix it.

So I guess we're all pretty much stuck with free ROCKING CHAIRS courtesy of HONDA MOTORS.

I'll check and see what my dealer can do with this problem.

thanks for your replies.

I'm seat shopping now too. I was content with my stock seat right after I got it fixed, but now the rock is coming back. I got a whole 3 weeks out of those new bushings.

My 2003 Civic EX driver's side seat rocks too! This will be the 2nd time they replace the bushings. As mentioned earlier, it is on a TSB and Honda WILL fix it for free as long as your car is under warranty. However, what happens when your car is NOT under warranty? This is and will be an ongoing problem until Honda decides to redesign the seat design.
