Does anyone know how to read Japanese?
I thought this was interesting. Can someone pls. translate. What do you think of a 4WD civic. I'm not sure if it makes a difference that it is Realtime 4WD, but if you don't mind can you pls. explain.
Thanks, me... http://www.honda.co.jp/CIVIC/lineup/lineup_f2.html

I think I saw a "realtime 4wd" sticker on a CRV. So they're just passing the feature to the original platform maybe.
But it doesn't look like they're comparing 4wd to RealTime4wd. They probably just put 4WD as a marker so you can see it right off the bat, when you glance at the page.
I don't know japanese sorry.

mmmk... about the 4x4 thing... I THINK, please dont flame me if i'm wrong..
i think its talking about using some kinda realtime computer thing to implement 4x4 depending on the street or something. and then its supposed to be really reliable and will help the acceleration. and then it talks about the timing of the 4x4 and how it distributes the power evenly....
lol now thats what i think...

i posted about that earlier...i'm having my friend get me the manual for the FERIO so i can import to parts needed to make my civic 4wd... its a long shot, but i hope its possible.
hondawerx said they'd help me out with importng the parts and they said there should be no problem doing the conversion. I think i'm going to swap a k20 first because i dun think our d17 has enuf power to handle 4wd ...
Here's a quick rough translation.
Real time 4WD dual pump system
The light and compact 4WD system utilizes a dual pump system. It achieves low fuel consumption at the same time as the ability to travel through snowy roads with reliable ease. Normally the car operates essentially as an FF car, but during launches, acceleration and slippery conditions, it instantly distributes power to the rear, enabling a smooth and stable ride.
Dual pump system
1) Under normal driving conditions there's is no oil pressure in 2 pumps, making it run as an FF.
2) During launch and times of acceleration, when the rotation of the front wheels becomes greater than the rear, oil pressure builds up between the front and rear pumps, and torque is transfered to the rear wheels.
3) Also, when the oil pressure exceeds normal values, a relief valve opens, regulating the oil pressure.
