What would happen if you put a hood without a scoop on a WRX?

Could it still suck air from under the hood, or is the scoop necessary?

Just curious.

if i'm not mistaken, the hood scoop supplys cold air onto the intercooler in the WRX. It'd still probably suck in air, but just not as much.

joski will become famous soon enough
If it has a FMIC then the hood scoop wouldn't be as big of a deal as a TMIC, but it allows more air circulation [and cold air at that].

My friend has an 88 Celica AWD Turbo with a reverse hoodscoop because he has liquid to air, so it circulates air taking it from the front and out the top. I dunno, just my two cents!

Yes the scoop is necessary... the turbo would probably over heat... Also, from my understanding... the intercooler doesn't suck air. Thats why the scoop is there.. so when you start moving air flows into it...

without a FMIC and no scoop you'd most likely lose some HP as the intercooler isn't as efficient because it isn't doing as good of a job cooling the air. But if you had a FMIC then i guess you could take off the scoop

krayziebonet4l is an unknown quantity at this point
The hood scoop provides cool air to the top mounted intercooler.
