03 Civic Coupe Air Filters

Ok I am thinkin of getting the K&N air filter for it...........my question is for the people who currently use one. Do you notice a Gain in HP and MPG?? or is the stock one just as good?

i hear there's no gain. it's just an air filter. heard the ride gets somewhat smoother though. but again, no gains.

just getting a new air filter doesn't really add much. maybe like half a horsepower up at the high end. save up and get a CAI, then you'll actually get some gains.

Yea just the filter might give you minimal gains but mainly just a smoother ride, i would save up for intake.

K&N drop-in improves gas mileage.....that's all. Pays off in the long run + reusable.

3-5 mpg gain for me.

didn't expect any horsepower.

and as mentioned by ak, reusable (saves you cost in filter in the long run).

OEM filters = $20-30/each ..... new one every 30,000-50,000 miles....

K&N drop-in = $40-60 (right?)..... forever...

Yup...definetely save a lotttttt of money.

Regardless of performance, its worth the money for how long it lasts. I think maybe performance increased *slightly*, but of course I could just be imagining it.

Don't bother with SRI's ...or as I call em, hot air intakes

well here are my new thoughts..............This civic Will only be with me for about 3 years........I hate to keep a car more than 3 years. So there i no point in getting the KandN filter for its longivity. I'll stick with stock.
