hood pins needed?

i know hood pins are used in case your hood flies up while at high speeds but is it a huge saftey hazard not to have them? just curious.

how much speed would you have to have for the hood to pop open to begin with?

wonderz is on a distinguished road
gone to 90+mph with cf hood w/o hood pins...not sure if you guys will want to drive above that on a regular basis anyways...
it just depends on the quality of the hood, but i got a pretty cheap one compare to others, so if mine is fine, so i guess it can be apply to most ppl

i have a VIS OEM STYLE CF HOOD and i had trouble with it bouncing up and down while on the freeway after about 60 mph or so. people said it should be alright w/o hood pins since it was VIS (supposedly good stuff) but i went ahead and took the extra precaution and put on 25 dollar sparco hood pins. i say better safe than sorry. dont want your 300+ dollar hood flying away on the freeway. ive seen one on the freeway before. not a pretty site.
