if you like how they look, then go for it. but apcs fog, and the chrome on my friends is peeling from the fog. i have tycs..they are great.
apc has come out with 2 new versions of tails making 3 in total...any aftermarket product especially tails or heads, should be siliconed anyways just in case...just go for the style you like the best, the quality is pretty much the same...I have had TYC's in the past and had no problems, and I know a couple of peeps with APC's and they've had zero problems with them...IMO, it's personal preference, after all, it's your car not everyone else's!...

I have to agree with Machina.. go with whatever design you perfer. If fogging up is a concern, then I would get some of that spread on silicone seal from canadian tire.
One thing I did notice about the TYC tails are that they have EVEN and BRIGHT light when it's on. I've had Matrix in the past, and they're bright from when viewed from certain angles only. Looks kinda funny. Same goes for APC.

I have TYC heads and tails. They are very well made compared to some of my friends APC lights (no leaking). They also carry the black housing which I have. But like others said, it depends on what you like.

look in my gallery, you will see I have carbon fiber tails
made by APC. They are DOT approved, you just have
to buy some clear sealant and go around the edges sealing
the tails before installing, otherwise they will get water in them

I'd say go with what you think looks best.
checkout my gallery if you want a pic of the carbon APC tail lights.
the APC's are DOT approved, and I didn't seal mine with silicone (although I would recommend it), and I haven't had any leak problems OR fogging problems.

first off, some people tend to think that tyc prducts are just cheap knockoffs of apc's. that is bullsh*t! if anything, it should be the opposite. tyc's might be cheaper than apc's but the quality is significantly better.(go figure)
i bought brand new apc tail lights for my '98 prelude and they started leaking seven months in. my right tail light at one point was half filled with water. putting some extra sealant on before you install them should help to stop them from leaking but if you ask me, they should be leak proof the day you buy them. that to me is just bad quality management on apc's part.
tyc's all the way!
