exhaust probs
exhaust probs
After driving for about a month with the quitest exhaust on the block(wich seemed odd to me having just welded an apexi n1 muffler on). I was alerted by a guy at a local performance shop that the new civics come with an extra silencer a bit back from the muffler and in responce I cut it off and welded straight pipe on. instantly problems came about, my muffler can rose up and melted into my bumper and a load clattering started just past 6 g's. If any one had some advice on what to do with that it would be great. thanks

are you talking about the resignator ?? yea its like a built in silencer thats in the pipe just behind the muffler. you can take it to a shop have them cut it out and just weld another piece of pipe to it. I did that about a year ago when i got my car cause i wanted loud exhaust, and trust me it gets loud. if thats what your lookin for then go for it. i regretted doin it, and now i have a greddy evolution exhaust.
its a large sort of barrel thing on the other side of the bolting connection stamped sankei right? it got louder, to the point of attracting some attention from police LOL. Hows the evo sound for you. I looked into it at first

i think you ARE referring to the resonator. i guess as to why its not sittin right and moving too much is that the stock resonator came with a hanger welded on. if you straight piped and didn;t weld on anotehr hanger, that could be why yoru exhaust isn;t sitting in place.
