Yeah, just take off the door panel and check. First take off just the handle and make sure the wire is attached. If the car still has warranty, just take it in and say it broke.

Are you guys having problems with the door lock switch itself or the alarm unlock button or both? My door switch works every time, but my alarm button half the time. I'll take mines in and have look at the wiring, hopefully that's it.

This happened to my passenger side door lock. Basically, I can't open it with my remote control for my aftermarket alarm. I can open it manually with a key though. I took my car to honda and they told me that the mechanism that opens and locks the door automatically was faulty. The guy told me that he had 3 other civics come in that day with the problems, he didn't say what year they were though. I have a 2001 civic, but the guy basically said that there was probably a recall on it. They ordered the part, but haven't installed it yet.

Hey sounds like I may have the same issue as you. Cool, when I take my car in next week for its 60K maintenance I'll have them look at that. Thanks for posting that info.

when it started happening to me, i'd push the alarm key button to unlock the doors, and the passenger side door lock would go up half way, but to the point where u still can't open it...

i took the door panel off, looked at it, it seems fine, but i guess i have to take it to honda....or i can be a DIY'er and try to fix it....hmmm....my limited possiblities have me pondering....hahaha....
