Car not starting, 3 times to dealer
Hi everyone... I got a question for a friend concerning her car. Its a 2002 Altima not a Civic. Im wondering if you guys can give some advice. Her car on 3 different occasions would not start for some reason. When she would try to start it, it wouldnt... Then she would call roadside assistance and they would tow it to the dealer. But when she gets to the dealer it starts up fine. This has happened 3 times. And the dealers say they do not have a clue to what the problem is... Ofcourse this is a pain in the *** cause it usually happens when she is out somewhere.
So my question is, can anything be accomplished by being insisting that the dealer do something about it?? This problem has not been fixed and it continues to reoccur on such a new car. Should she contact Nissan directly? will it do anything??
Has anyone had similar experiences and had a positive outcome?
Thanks

Is it an automatic? Try shaking the shifter a little. Theres a contact down there that has to tell the computer the car is not in gear and it may be loose or dirty. We had a Maxima that did that. Then take it in and tell them to check that contact.
